And here's the log, nicely soaked, in place under the lilac tree. It's standing on a rock that Ben had collected many years ago and had kept in his wardrobe. I hope that's ok Ben?

The log was a Christmas present. We should get oyster mushrooms on this next autumn.

you fold your right leg in;

you tuck them both right in;

then you give that rear a hop!

The first portion of the house was built in the 1780s with an additions in the 1830s. The house sits not far from the historic Forbes Road. The house was built by Samuel Hoy (Hoey). The Staymates family purchased the property in 1852 and farmed the land until the early 1900s. The last family member to live in the home was Bessie Staymates ("Miss Bessie"), who was well known and taught at local schools for 50 years. Bessie willed the house and land to the Westmoreland County Girl Scouts. The Municipality of Murrysville purchased the property in December, 1977. The MHPS conducted extensive restoration of the barn, and the MHPS and the Municipality restored the log house in 2016.

Took the scenic route to Buffalo through Central PA on Rt 15 which had very little traffic though we did trail this logging truck for awhile in Clinton, PA. I was simultaneously admiring the log pattern and wondering what would happen if theire was a sudden stop.
