Early morning light on the (bigger) logs cut down yesterday.

Note the lack of a tree behind the logs!

Another one of those unexpectedly awesome ones.

The sill log on the north side of the Sprouse baccer barn is about gone. Six legged critters are munching away.

This old place comprises about 38 acres. Peggy swears when Hazel goes on she's moving back to Winston.

I was a psych major yea those many years ago...

She's been there 14 years now.

She's spent money she knew she was wasted to keep this house up.

She's still wasting money on this house.

She ran, unsuccessfully, for a Yadkin County Commissioners seat.

My hunch is she won't leave the land when Hazel goes home.

Found this on the top of a stump. It looked liked a skyline to me. It is really only a few inches tall.

One very nice thing about parks like Heritage Park. I love the split log contrast wit the clapboard.

Location: Punggol beach, Singapore

Having read a lot about the Punggol Beach Massacre of 1942 where-in about 400 Chinese civilians were massacred by the Japanese Military forces, me and my buddies decided to pay the site a visit one fine Sunday morning. Out of some sheer curiosity, we decided to find a way to the beach through the Forest. Came across this over hanging log of wood towards the end of the hike.

Next we moved on to Kakslauttanen, in Lapland. It is about 450km inside the arctic circle, and at this time of year the sun never fully rose. We had about 4 hours of twilight a day.

But we kept warm with a log fire!

Log barge @ Seapan's Vancouver Shipyards

We sit at the south end of Dodd Narrows, glued to our radios. Working tug boats with their massive log booms get right-of-way, so we wait for our turn. The massive logs are chained together, but you don’t want to get too close – and you really don’t want to meet a log that has broken free!
