Light in more ways than one, this sole loco was heading back to Hamilton at just the right time to catch the sunrise. The photo has a nice sunlit warmth to it, but actually it was frosty cold!

GWR freight loco No3822 simmers away in the Loco works waiting for its next duties out on the mainline
I was watching a video on photography where the topic was sharpness. The history of why it became important was discussed while the notion of an artistic form was also debated. This image is a little bit of both in respect to this topic and that informative episode.
While the rocks are tack sharp, we see movement in the ducks that just refused to sit still. Always on the move; do they add or detract from the artistic nature of the final product?
Posterior a realizar el cambio de vía a banalizada, el tren de locomotoras Taurus de la OBB procedente de Brenner con destino a Innsbruck, atraviesa el paraje alpino de Gries, levantando a su paso la nieve acumulada en el carril tras las recientes nevadas del invierno europeo.
El contraste de colores, entre la decoración de las locomotoras, con el blanco invernal y el verde de los pinos, además de lo inusual de la circulación, hacen de esta foto un documento a compartir.

In un'ottica di collaborazione tra CFI e DB Cargo Italia, nelle ultime settimane due E494 dell'ultima fornitura sono entrate in turno sui convogli dell'impresa italo-tedesca, mentre due E483 (versione F) hanno fatto il percorso inverso; qui vediamo la E494-213 in transito presso Carimate (CO), impegnata con il Chiasso Sm.to - Casalpusterlengo.

The last day of steaming for this heavy freight loco, to see out its 10 year boiler ticket and, unlikely to be back in steam for another 10 years.

The old structure of Mavli loco shed. The shed houses 6 YDM4 locos and a coach care facility. Since, all the MG in NWR has vanished, the shed as to make all the repairs to its rolling stock.
