Forests, the livelihoods of people living in and around forests, forest species etc are the theme of World Wildlife Day 2021 on 3 March.

 

This female Bengal Tiger has spotted a herd of Chital and starts her approach along the edge of the forest. She managed to get very close but did not catch one of the Spotted Deer.

Taken in Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, a part of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, India.

a very few pieces remain and Iovely for me to now see new examples of her work

 

Alexander McCall Smith's use of the word **late in his 'No 1 Ladies Detective Agency' novels always felt rather quaint to me; the word now serves me rather well.

 

At the end of her life, this abandoned ship have intriguing stories to tell.

 

She has a story of daring encounters with tidal waves, she has a story of survival from many turbulent sea storms, she has a story of experiencing loneliness in middle of the sea, she has a story of staying in the dark with no land visible up to infinity point in any direction in the sea, she has a story to console many lonely people on board, she has a story of some heart-wrenching moments of witnessing death of the people on board, she has a story to collect million fishes to provide livelihood for many people during her lifetime, she has a story of enjoying the sight happiness on the face of many families, she has a story to dedicate its life for others and many more.

 

She has served the society in the true way.

 

Now, she is resting on the sea shore, in this deteriorating condition and waiting for someone to come and free her from this situation.

A group of folk performers who assume several forms [In Sanskrit 'bahu' (many) and 'rupa' (form)] and playfully take on different identities. The bahurupis portray several hundred characters borrowing stories from epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata; folk tales of gods and goddesses in disguise; stories built around common characters and inspirational stories about personalities.

This factory is located at the remote area within the deserted valley at the outskirts of Taif. People around the world put great effort and sacrifice so many things in their life to earn livelihood for their family. I have a great respect and high regards for these people.

Met this snake charmer who earns a living as a street performer with the help of his albino python.

Along the Grand Codroy River, dairy farming seemed to be the mainstay livelihood, with the Anguille Mtns as a backdrop.

His livelihood is to sharpen scissors , knives etc available in common household.

Plight of seniors who have been left behind

Nomads losing livelihood, unity and culture post resettlement:

   

DHARAMSHALA, July 17: A Tibetan writer born to a nomadic family inside Tibet has blasted China’s mass resettlement policy of Tibetans and listed eight “losses” nomads (Tib: drogpas) have suffered post resettlement.

   

Written in Tibetan under the pseudonym Bongtak Rilu, the writer says that nomads are “a proud, compassionate, honest, cultured and productive people who crafted their own independent source of living for centuries.”

   

According to Dharamshala based rights group Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, the writer laments the losses nomads are currently suffering, including the loss of precious folk culture, because of their resettlement in urban areas.
