I went to Pembrokeshire for the day a few days ago and ended up at one of my favourite places Strumble Head. I took so many photos and the light was lovely but I have had a nightmare getting my editing to my liking! Anyway this one which is ok I think - I spent so much time editing it and loads of sliding so hope it is ok for Sliders Sunday! Will catch up with everyone later on today.

When I finished with this it just looked to plane, so I dragged it through Topaz and I'm kinda liking it now.

Went to the Veteran's Clinic today for a check up and to get my first shot. The line was a little long but there was another old sailor behind me and we killed the time with old Navy stories. The shot was no big deal and the nurse giving it really knew what she was doing. Didn't feel a thing. Just in time too. Guess you saw on TV where our great Governor of Texas said "no one has to wear a mask after next week and all businesses can open".

Exactly the same conditions last night except for the usual bank of low cloud that put paid to it. Tide wasn't quite as high but the lighthouse was surrounded, just.

Woke up with no ear worm finally. Just a dog that had taken a liking to my down jacket arm.

Found some tropical butterflies living in a greenhouse in a small zoo on the Baltic coast. What a beauty these creatures have.. gorgeous!

The great grey owl is an owl from the high northern area. He seems to be much larger than he is because half of his size is his plumage. Between the feathers is a lot of air which works like an isolator to keep the bird warm.

The beautiful bracelet you see in this photograph is from South Africa. I bought it from a young deprived girl who has made it her self. In South Africa everyone makes something and sells it. This is how they get their pocket money...

Something old while I wait for something new. Weather's been lousy recently which doesn't help. Hopefully winter has a bite in its tail and then it will be onto the joys of spring. Must get down to the coast too... In the meantime this is one resurrected from October time.

Had a few hours to kill on Saturday so played around with Filters at Mentone Beach and this old Groyne in the heart of the afternoon.

I was really keen to catch the reflections the gaps in the fence made over the water. I originally envisoined this to be black and white and I have processed a version which I will post but I ended up liking this coloured one.

This big Yak is on a farm down the road. He really didn't take a liking to me. I stood next to the fence to get this shot, then he stood up and started moving closer. The fence was not that sturdy looking and those horns are rather sturdy, so back to the safety of my car I went. He seemed much happier as well.

I have been busy with the holiday, then internet outages, and software disasters so I was out for awhile, but now hopefully back in business! :-)

1 of 25 Days of Christmas

My first shot of my Christmas album for 2020. I took 2 different shots last night and ended up not liking either. I hurried around today searching the house frantically for something to take a shot of of and came up with this. I hope it is a good enough start to my 25 Days of Christmas.

Alvin and the squirrels are NOT liking all the rain. It has rained and rained for days. We needed it, but we're beyond that point. We're having flooding in the area. My grandaughter's school was closed because of flooding. There isn't any relief in sight until Tuesday. I planted some flowers, and they are "drowning." Cannot wait to see the sun again. It's 45 degrees today and it's going to be 47 tomorrow...crazy weather for almost June. Happy week end.

Dickens here, running to catch up with me. I liked how she kicked up some oak leaves. She always does this when I take her out for walks., starts flapping her wings and running towards me real fast.. So funny.

I took her, Trouble and Goldie all out for a walk today (50F and mostly sunny) and was hoping to get them all up to the pond but Dickens was the only one who would go all the way up with me. Trouble and Goldie turned around and went back to their safety zone which they don't seem to care to get too far away from. (My fenced backyard and their enclosure)

It is so nice to have access to 500mm without feeling like I'm carrying a toddler around. And this camera is about a third the size of my 1dx mk2. Really liking this smaller more compact gear. Plus, don't need the tripod for it either. Happy days!

I do have a soft spot for long exposure minimalist work, when I'm in the mood, usually mono but I also have a liking for soft pastel colours. This one didn't need much doing to it as the murky waters of the Bristol Channel saw to that.
