From the beach at Cala Ostina, with Castelsardo in the distance

Yet again, the light conditions were not great, the sunset was far too hazy and washed out for my liking, I waited for 1/2 hrs and eventually some faint pink hues appeared on the horizon and created the opportunity for this shot; not ideal but that's just my luck!

Not liking the cold already, I put on a warmer/fun time pic of my little beauties at Bill's Backyard Bird Blind. Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Thank you for liking my Invisible Lighthouse in my previous post and willing to play along! 🙏

Here's one that you can see - Ontonagon West Pierhead Lighthouse.

I wish you a very joyful and relaxed Sunday! 🌻

A day at the north sea coast, watching the flocks of migrating birds. At the end, sunset at the Kronenloch and playing a bit with reflections and silhouettes.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for liking and following my work, your comments and ongoing appreciations means a lot to me. This is a milestone I never expected to reach and I am humbled. I want to thank my partner Steven for being there in good times and bad and being my champion when I needed it most. My journey through SL photography has been made richer by all the amazing people I have met in the last year including creators who have become firm friends.

My RL is currently very distracting so this post is a little late, but I got there in the end!

A young European wildcat. She looks so harmless and cute, but she will never get tame. I find it so fascinating that our domesticated house cats are not the descendants of the European wildcats, but are descended from the African Wildcat and found their way to our latitudes a long time ago.

The beautiful bracelet you see in this photograph is from South Africa. I bought it from a young deprived girl who has made it her self. In South Africa everyone makes something and sells it. This is how they get their pocket money...

Still practicing with the A9, despite it being cloudy this morning, with little sun.

Edited in Capture One, and still learning that too. Tried removing the noise as much as possible, but there's still a bit too much there for my liking.

But, I'll keep percevering.

On 26/1/2019 I replaced the original noisy image with an edit from Lightroom.

I know, panning is not everybodys liking, but me I like it. I still have to improve in that technique.

Alvin and the squirrels are NOT liking all the rain. It has rained and rained for days. We needed it, but we're beyond that point. We're having flooding in the area. My grandaughter's school was closed because of flooding. There isn't any relief in sight until Tuesday. I planted some flowers, and they are "drowning." Cannot wait to see the sun again. It's 45 degrees today and it's going to be 47 tomorrow...crazy weather for almost June. Happy week end.

Liking the weather......lol !

Beavers have taken a liking to the Ruby Anthracite Creek, which flows between the Ruby Mountains and the Anthracite Mountains in western Colorado. Three dams are visible in this frame, but there are many more.

This made me wonder, once again, whether beavers have a sense of esthetics--they work so hard to create reflecting pools to live in. But on the other hand, one might say that they build dams to build homes safe from predators--their lodges have underwater entrances.

Aspen and spruce in the background, willows crowding the stream.

This is a well known spot and composition in the New Forest which is prone to mist and is normally photographed when the the heather is in bloom but I was curious to see how it would render in infra red and ended up quite liking the result.

I'm torn between" liking" and "not liking" this feral kitty. I often see him in my yard & in my shed. With all the bird feeders up, it's a kitty's delight to find easy meals. I'm sad when I find little areas of feathers in my yard.

I also feel for this kitty

because he had survived the rough Winter & he looked in bad shape at times. I would find him in my shed sitting on the chairs inside. I fed him a few times a week. Now I must be crazy for practically inviting a bird hunter to my yard when I love birds so much. I deter the kitty from eating too many birds by setting up a perimeter of wire around my feeders. This way he has to jump over it, thus, giving the birds a wee little bit more time to fly away to safety.

He is a pretty kitty though. He stayed just long enough to let me attempt a shot.

Have a nice evening

Still fine tuning my new camera.

I am liking it more and more as I am learning about the new and improved functionalities!

Since it's very cold and windy with not much going on outside, I got out a lens I haven't used very often and decided to take advantage of Ripley being cozy and cute with only natural light from the window. The dogs have taken over this chair and rearranged the pillows to their liking - making a very cushy and comfortable napping place.

Blooming Wisteria, in the background some lavender. I really love the colours of summer...

Early last year, I mentioned to someone I knew that I have a great liking for really well done cover versions of songs. In reply, he sent me a list of his favourite twenty cover versions of songs, performed by a variety of artists.

Last September, I noticed I still had that list, and as I looked at the song titles on it, I suddenly thought, wouldn't it be fun to try to interpret each song title on that list into a photo for my Flickr?

I started taking the photos last September. I've been busy since then, so it took me a while to complete the list, and I've only just done it. But now it's finished, I'll gradually post each of the song playlist photos here in order.

Song 4 in the playlist is Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down), covered by Monophonics.

youtu.be/xyWHRC8A_uU

This part of the song ran through my head when I was making this picture:

Now he's gone, I don't know why

And 'til this day, sometimes I cry

He didn't even say goodbye

He didn't take the time to lie

Bang bang, he shot me down

Bang bang, I hit the ground

Bang bang, that awful sound

Bang bang, my baby shot me down

I tried to portray the moment of impact in this picture, both the actual impact of a bullet hitting a person, and also, the emotional impact of being figuratively rather than literally shot down too.

Fun fact: I found out when I was making this picture that even though most people think the original version of this song was by Nancy Sinatra, Nancy's was actually a cover version too. The song was written by Sonny Bono and Cher performed the original.

Winter seas are often a problem for Aberystwyth, its low promenade and sea defences have taken many a pummelling.

Standing with a folding vest pocket camera to photograph an angry sea alongside people wielding the most up-to-date of Nikons and Canons is a peculiar experience. Almost fraudulent or pretentious. Yet I cannot deny liking this particular frame.

Aberystwyth, towards Constitution Hill, December 2021. Voigtländer Bessa-I, Fomapan 400 in ID-11.

Liking the phone camera a little more today, progress!

Barks rang from across the forest mingled with the swoosh of paws pattering along the soil, jumping pass in a sprint and even lunging ahead, almost flying with high speed. The wind was strong when running fast and this loyal heart was on a massive search, the search for his heart.

Wet nose sniffed the ground momentarily, sniffed up the air, his tail wagging in anticipation that the scent he knew so well was oh so near and yet not near enough for his liking.

A happy bark emitted when he finally found her, instantly pouncing her seated form on the corner of the stream, just by an abandoned rail tracks that was overtaken by the waters and plants.

She laughed, arms trying to steady the big companion into a soft fluffy tight hug. In the midst of the reunion, she dropped her diary into the river, much to her dismay. With a long hard look she watched as it flowed along with the current. It was too late to even bother catching it... Even the rail tracks did not really help stop its flow.

"Look what you made me too, silly old dog." she said lovingly, her fingers brushing along his dark fur before giving him another hug and leaning into him. Thoughts traveled to the journey her diary started, who would possibly stumble upon her precious thoughts? It was terrifying, to have lost memories only to be found by a complete stranger.

P.S. Bambi made the railway!! And I am beyond ecstatic about them that it broke my uninspired funk! I had to give it justice and a cute story of course. I used Skye Studio's Pine forest (Im in love with it), 8f8's Art of Nature Lotus (Seriously, my favorite lotus ever!), 8f8's Secret Diary, *HEXtraordinary* Sandpiper (the little bird there that was a gift from a very good awesome friend, thank you!) Anc Ltd's Cattails, Cube Republic's reeds & pampas!
