We were up in the Houston area for a wedding shower and decided to check out the famed bolivar peninsula. We got up early and headed out to high island. This sunrise backlit shot of a great egret was one of the first shots I took after setting up.

i like Minneapolis a lot, and this is a particularly nice place. in the heart of the city. The famous St. Anthony Falls are by now a completely artificial hydrotechnical contraption. But the might of the river is still quite evident. The falls used to be the place where Mississippi stops being navigable, and served as the source of wealth for Minneapolis, providing power to its numerous mills.
