It's been a while since I uploaded a 'flipped' shot (well, a few days actually) so here's one of the Light Tunnel at Kings Cross Station. I thought it was a suitable Sci-Fi image to celebrate the release of the new Star Wars film........
Definitely somewhere I'd like to return next year to take more shots, I just need to remember how to find it again given we wandered around for a while before stumbling upon it.

From a Kings Cross Press Release : "A new tunnel, with integrated light wall, opened yesterday at King’s Cross. The 90m long tunnel, which has a LED integrated light-wall running its entire length, was designed by Speirs + Major and delivered by The Light Lab. The tunnel itself has been designed by architects Allies & Morrison and links St Pancras International and King’s Cross St Pancras Underground stations to the new public spaces, restaurants, offices and homes at King’s Cross.
Commuters were treated to something a little different on Monday morning, as the tunnel was open to the public, with commuters able to enjoy the debut light installation called Pipette. The dedicated art work on display was created by Miriam Sleeman (The Cross Kings) and Tom Sloan (Tom Sloan Design) and is designed to evoke the colourful tapestry of King’s Cross through a tranquil yet animated design."

I've been uploading Oxford images for a couple of weeks now having been clearing a backlog but for the next few days I thought I'd take a break and add a few images I seem to have passed over earlier in the year, starting with this fisheye shot of the 'Light tunnel' at Kings Cross Station, taken during this years Photo24 event.
Definitely somewhere I'd like to return next year to take more shots, I just need to remember how to find it again given we wandered around for a while before stumbling upon it.

Originally from 'a church in Edinburgh', we picked up half a dozen of these rather lovely glass pendants from Holyrood Architectural Salvage, swapped out the old plastic cable for some new woven red flex, and found some three-way enamel ceiling roses. (Both flex and roses came from Enamel Lampshades.) Isn't that timber and metal top piece nice? No idea what the church replaced them with...
The hardboard spacers there are temporary while we agree on exactly what shape we like best - Alison quite likes this or maybe a more pure triangle, and I wonder about a simple circular ring. Either way, they'll end up getting cut from some nice plywood, I think...
...At any rate, it's rather different to the kind of lighting design I normally do at work, and also fun to play around with something so decorative on this project for a change!
PLEASE CHECK OUT THE LINK BELOW TO THE BLOG AS I HAVE POSTED A FEW IMAGES FROM THIS EVENT....AND AS ALWAYS, THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!
Its been a little while since I did a post from a show, so, here we go! After just working on 2 successful events this weekend, I guess I'm in the mood. In continuation to last nights post, I am gonna show a few images from an event we did at the Breakers in April. The NACDS (International Chain Drug Store) event is actually a week long convention that annually brings a lot to the local economy. According to their website, The NACDS Annual Meeting is their industry’s most influential, strategically oriented event. More than 2,000 business leaders including Chairmen, CEOs, Presidents, and Senior Vice Presidents from drug, food, mass, and specialty retailing companies and their supplier counterparts will gather in Palm Beach to share their vision, discuss strategic issues, and explore future opportunities for success. Our involvement varies from year to year. In years past, we have worked on events for Revlon and Gillette, but this year, as we have for about 20 years, we were happy to be working with L'oreal Paris again. Michael Ereshena has always found a creative way to tie in the "French" theme. In years past, regions such as the Riviera, The Loire Valley, and Normandy have inspired his designs, but for this year, French Films became the basis for the decor.

Well, first off, I am not a graphic artist. These are a few, as promised from yesterday, from this past weekend. Certainly not a typically large show for us, but still an opportunity to express our creative energy. I have been messing a little with On One's Photo frame software. This was created with it. The far background was a texture at 85% opacity and a rough edge frame. The other images were all sized and rotated in PS4 (Photoshop) and given black frames and drop shadows. The background image was then dimmed a bit to let the other images pop a bit.
Well, looking for a little critique. Too much? Is it too busy?
Oh yeah, all the images are mine as well. Some HDR and some not.
Happy Thanksgiving all!

Um lugar impressionante, com uma história mais ainda. Como um simples sotaque francês pode mudar o nome de uma região, muito rica em vida, e que fascina a todos que passam por lá.
