ceiling light fixture. as seen through the upper part of an entrance doorway to a small building with the blue sky and clouds reflecting off the glass.

obviously i'm more interested in the light fixtures than the prom dresses

The center ceiling light, lit. This light fixture gets its color from the bulbs, around 84 of them. Very unique, we do not know if it dates from the original building, 1916, or from the remodeling done in 1935. We would deeply appreciate any information about it. It is matched with two large corner lights and 6 sidelights. The stripes are long strips of white glass.

Last night I went to Sydney to visit a friend who I hadn't seen for more than a decade. She was staying at the Grace Hotel on York Street.

This place is lovely. Everything is Art Deco which is my absolute favourite architectural and decorating style. My favourite building is The Chrysler in New York and it is Art Deco. It's just a stunning period in Architecture.

I wanted to go crazy taking photos of all the fixtures in the hotel but we were so pushed for time that I only took one.

I think I might just have to go stay there one night so I can take pics of it.

I thought of angling the camera downward, but I wanted to get in all of the light fixture. Is it any wonder this building fell into abandonment? The horseshoe is upside down.

The fifth light fixture has been mounted, wired, and its reflector put on. Now it just needs the two T8 bulbs installed.

This wood pecker appeared at the bird feeder the other day, which is fine. When I saw him on the side of the garage hammering away at the siding I was less than amused!

Special tough bulbs must be used in old streetcars, before everything shifted to fluorescent bulbs, such as in this preserved Peter Witt.

The Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge is an Art Deco gem. Read about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_State_Capitol

Nearly, but not quite, over the stage where the performers work is this light fixture. It is actually fairly dim.

It also tends to catch attention, as this seems to deviate from the normal decor. Anyways, it is colorful and I thought I'd take a photo of it.

Cool light fixture in a hotel meeting room.

I thought I was photographing my Arts & Crafts Style light fixture, but while playing with it in Photoshop, I discovered my light fixture is actually a Dalek. I've notified Doctor Who.

Constructive criticism is always welcome.
