Light show at the Supertree Grove. A fascinating experience.
Gardens by the Bay is a large nature park in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. At the core of the part is Supertree Grove. Supertrees are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens' landscape with heights that range between 25 metres (82 ft) and 50 metres (160 ft). They are vertical gardens that are home to enclaves of unique and exotic ferns, vines, orchids and also a vast collection of bromeliads such as Tillandsia, amongst other plants. They are fitted with environmental technologies that mimic the ecological function of trees: photovoltaic cells that harness solar energy which can be used for some of the functions of the Supertrees (such as lighting), similar to how trees photosynthesize, and collection of rainwater for use in irrigation and fountain displays, similar to how trees absorb rainwater for growth. The Supertrees also serve air intake and exhaust functions as part of the conservatories' cooling systems. The Grove offers a nightly light and music show, called Garden Rhapsody. Still 20-minutes before sunrise and already this celestial display of colours is a promising sign... or is it? As the weather lore goes, "Red sky in the morning, shepherds' warning"!
I managed to get out last night, the wind has dropped the rain has stopped, for the moment at least until Friday . This is at Cissbury ring at Lancing, two images blended it was lovely how the light came through the poppies and complimented by a nice sky .
I had the good fortune to witness this incredible sunset in Huntington Beach, California. The sunset did not really seem like it would be anything special, but then the sky just lit up unexpectedly. Fortunately, I had not put my camera away yet.
Pont du Gard is a Roman monument built halfway through the 1st century AD. It is the principal construction in a 50 km long aqueduct that supplied the city of Nîmes (in Southern France), formerly known as Nemausus, with water. Built as a three-level aqueduct standing 50 m high, it allowed water to flow across the Gardon river.

A few weeks each winter, a natural phenomenon lines up sunset throught keyhole Arch on Big Sur's Pfeiffer Beach.
Next weekend I am taking a macro photography workshop through the RA photo club. I'm hoping to make better use of my expensive Sigma 105mm lens by actually learning how to use it properly! It's been mostly languishing in my bag since last summer.
Rocky Mountain National Park. Didn't get the aurora that night but Gary Clendening and I got a great consolation prize!
Anyone who hasn't been to the Christmas market in Tivoli, I can highly recommend a visit. With al the lights i every color and snow, small, big buildings. I was so mesmerised that I forgot I was in Copenhagen for a second.
