It seems the flip top is a popular subject and I'll bet there will be a few posted today. I generally try to avoid those kind of subjects but I haven't seen that many with the Grolsch green glass. That being said here's my take on the subject. And for all the posters of these flip top bottles, thanks for the inspiration! The height is 2.25 in. and I adjusted the spacing to keep under the 3 in. rule. I checked this by comparing the actual height to the screen size according to the equation (2.25/6.75 = X/8.75), X=2.91.

The major solar storm that was supposed to happen last night never developed. This crown like formation was one of the best of the night. A long climb up the mountain wasn't totally wasted. I came away great milky way and northern light shots.

Raw file processed in-camera.

Low light shot just before sunset last summer....

The Rio–Antirrio Bridge (Greek: Γέφυρα Ρίου-Αντιρρίου), officially the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge after the statesman who first envisaged it, is one of the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and the longest of the fully suspended type. It crosses the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road.

This is a shot from Kålvika in Grimsøy, between Sarpsborg and Halden, Norway. Great evening together with a good friend. Really enjoy these last light shots :)

"Still Life" in all actuality is an oxymoron, whilst I am a big fan of Still Life Photography, the term itself is puzzling, as everything is energetically vibrational and everything is constantly in a state of motion, as in ALL things. I once in a very macabre fashion joked to a friend, that you can never be doing nothing, even when you're dead you're decomposing. Yes I know I have a dark side.

This Macro shot was with my trusty Raynox, I spotted these tiny berries littering the ground by the Canal on Kaiserin Augusta Allee (Moabit, Berlin), the Sun wasn't directly penetrating the area, so I got a very organic natural light shot in 70mm with the Tamron in full retraction, so I think the focus was fairly even.

I hope everyone is well, new week ahead, don't let the buggers get you down and so as always, thank you! :)

High ISO low light shot sometimes bring grains in the shot!

This is what i faced here but I found that the kitty moments could be caught best in night with high ISO

My attempt at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "lost and found".

Found this beer glass on the street in front of our house. Of course I removed it from there due to the potential dangers to everyone. So now I‘ve tried to refill it with light.

This is a painting-with-light shot of the old cemetry in Lachlan Bay near the Old Lachlan Castle on Loch Fyne, Argyll.

I'd be lying if I said that the strange noises in the dark didn't freak me out a bit!

Taken on VE Day 2020, during the first lockdown. A shot of Rochester Cathedral, with light trails of cars passing. I took it purely for the red roof, and the nice light.

Shot on Nikon Df and post processed in Luminar.

A collection of six sided dice. Single constant LED light shot on a black acrylic sheet.

The image is about 7.5 cm (3 inches) on the long edge.

We had no luggage for the first 8 days of our safari, and my only mono-pod was packed in that missing luggage, so I had to make do on low-light shots.

I used a railing out back of an Italian restaurant we were dining in to get this shot.

Hornklee keeps on fighting against the dryness. Its always amazing to see, how the Canon lens renders with the right light. Shot with the Canon FD 50mm F3.5 SSC.

This was made a few days before the image in my previous post. The bird in an area where owls are nesting. I believe this is the male, who is usually watching the nest tree from a distance.

This is another early morning low light shot (12,800 ISO, f5.6, 1/4 seconds). I continue to be amazed at the lighting conditions our current cameras allow us to work in.

Thank you all for taking the time to view, like and comment on our work, we appreciate the support very much.

Low light shot of the confederation bridge from the PEI side.

this poor orange has suffered alot after yesterdays strobe-light shot, and today I was dropping it into a basin of water! Wellies were required to be worn for this setup, the kitchen floor was flooded by the time I had finished. Fun !!!

A Florida morning glows behind a grackle caught mid‑stride, one claw lifted like it’s hitting the beat of a song only birds and dancers understand. The wooden rail beneath it is sun‑bleached and textured, turning this simple walkway into a stage. The background melts into soft greens and golds, a natural spotlight that makes the bird look like it’s performing a choreographed routine.

Its feathers shimmer with iridescent blues and purples, catching the sun in a way that feels intentional like it knows it’s being photographed and is giving you its best angle. There’s humor in the moment, absolutely: the unmistakable “slide to the left, slide to the right” energy, the comedic timing of a step frozen in perfect rhythm. But beneath the humor is elegance. Precision. A sense of personality that makes the frame feel alive.

It’s the kind of image that belongs on a wall a blend of attitude, timing, and natural beauty that turns a simple walk into a performance. My latest photography is now available for purchase at crsimages.pixels.com/, featuring prints, framed art, and more from my curated collections.

That’s not an afterthought — it’s part of the story this image tells: a moment of swagger and sunlight captured for anyone who wants a piece of Florida’s wild personality hanging in their home.

Fine art landscape of an urban street in monsoon on a rainy night in mixed light shot with a point and shoot camera. A long exposure on a rainy night in a mixture of different sources of light.

Sometimes clouds can add drama to Northern Light shots.

If you don't want them it's just too bad because there's pretty much nothing you can do about it anyway - you get what you're given & all you can do is chill - which is fairly easy to do here :)

Single image HDR I always forget I have a 35mm which is great for low light shots I love the Scots pine tree a bit like huge bonsai I think.

Thank you everyone for your interest, its much appreciated!

Québec. Je voulais profiter d'une rare journée sans soleil pour aller capter cette paruline. Bonne fête de la St-Jean. Smooth light shot.

A shot reprocessed and re-lifed from a few years back.

I was spending time at the family home in Beeston and took advantage of the approaching dusk to come out for a low-light shot of the evening Kingsbury - Lindsey oil tanks. As the blue-hour took hold I couldn't resist this 'warm up' bokeh opportunity. It was raining at the time, hence the water droplets hanging from the ladder rungs.

Commenting off for this one, thanks.

27th March 2014

* This image is going to need some explanation as it does look rather unusual . It was taken during a video instillation within the 12th century Hull Minster it was called “Ship of the Gods” made by Heinrich and Palmer who are based based in Norway.

What you are seeing is a huge screen hung from floor to ceiling inside the minster on which was projected a 15 minute film, this is a sequence where a slightly ghostly minster itself was used in the film. The Screen itself was remarkable it was so thin you could actually see through it which creates the slightly odd effect . It was hand held but I had to ramp up the ISO to 3200. I decided to keep the spectators in the image I thought it added to the slightly surreal atmosphere

Ship of the gods was one of six light/video instillations on display in Hull last weekend with the overall title of Urban Legends and Northern Lights

One of my contacts has found the full video of this light shot Some of you may be interested to see it

I have been hearing them and catching glimpses on the Whitemud Trails and finally got a clear but back-lighted shot.

Star trails (plus a meteor) from our overwater bungalow (thanks for the free upgrade!) The island in the background is a town across a channel so there is some light pollution there. The Maldives should be one of the darkest places on earth but this particular resort wasn't unfortunately.

Took this 'First Light' shot from the Eastern Shoreline adjacent to Plas-y-Brenin the National Outdoor and Mountaineering Centre where there is good roadside access to the lake.

It's 8.30am and the sun has just cleared the hillside to the left now fully illuminating Crib Goch (Red Ridge in Welsh) 923m (2,532ft) and part of the 'Snowdon Horseshoe' behind it as well.

Snowdon's Peak, already shrouded in cloud, lies directly behind Crib Goch and sadly so it remained for the whole day.

Painting with light shot looking southwards down Loch Eck, taken from Jubilee Point.

This shot was taken in Münster, Germany. I was in a Botanical Garden to look at all the different flowers and plants, when I saw this little fern fighting for light.

Shot with Nikon D5100.

Little curios lamb. The meadow is right next to our local high school. If my school environment in Magdeburg had been so tranquil. The picture was taken with the next new old Schneider Kreuznach 135mm lens. Externally, the lens is in top condition, but unfortunately the aperture is broken, so only open aperture shots. It delivers very sharp images though. The lens is even smaller and much lighter than the Schneider lens I introduced a week ago. The shots have a beautiful vintage touch, maybe it was the light.

Shots are completely unedited jpg's.

As the light continued to get more dramatic, the shadows also began to move in. Like a scene from a thriller movie, they appeared to surround the distant silhouette. It was a thrilling moment for me as well, as I searched for the right position. The one that would best take advantage of the setting.

A pinkish streak of light shot through the sky, as day was quickly becoming night. The shadows continued their inexorable march, while just the right spot anchored my tripod, and the shot was made.

The Sharp-tailed Grouse are very active on their lek, or dancing ground, this month, as they try to impress the watching females with their male prowess. So... they dance, they make themselves big, they rush about, strut, hoot, chirp, and leap into the air in a flurry of wingbeats, talons ready to slash at their rival if they see an opening. It's very intense. By the end of mating season many of them are bloodied and bruised, and missing feathers. Grouse wars are serious business!

Morning light, shot from the rolling red Toyota blind parked at the edge of the lek.
