A long exposure, landscape image of a seemingly, lifeless forest on a foggy day in Perthshire, Scotland.
To this assembly-place, be praised.
The existence of him, who brought us.
Awoken within lifeless-sorrowed bodies,
The existence of him, who dressed us.
Pîr Sultan Abdal ( 1480 - 1550 )
The good dog sat on the porch in the shade, waiting for his master. The master had sat him down and told him to Stay, and he knew from hard experience that Stay was very serious. A dog told to stay did exactly that, and nothing else. Until the master came back to release him.
Morning turned to midday and sun lit up the dog’s corner of the porch. All through the afternoon, the heat got more and more intense.
The good dog panted. Burned in the sun. Thought about water; tried not to think about it. Went to that empty private place in his mind where dogs sometimes go when they have to do a lot of waiting.
Through the afternoon, the dog looked with longing at the shade on the other side of the porch. But he did not go to it. Stay meant stay.
By evening, the sun’s rays were longer and less intense. Hunger gripped the dog’s belly. His mouth and tongue were raw from panting. But… good dog that he was, he stayed.
His heart leapt, and he could almost taste cool water, when he heard someone coming up the stairs.
But he knew almost instantly that it was not his master. The footfalls were too light; the smell was all wrong.
It was a woman. She gasped a little gasp when she saw the dog. Said hello, with some trepidation. Held out her hand for him to sniff, which he did.
She kneeled down in front of him, saw that he was in distress, and went inside the cool dark house.
At the door she turned to him and said, “Come on!”
But he was a good dog, and he’d been told to stay.
The woman brought out a big bowl of water and some leftover chicken from the night before. She put them on the porch in front of the dog and urged him to eat and drink.
He did neither. He’d been told to stay. And he knew the “food and water” trick. The master had taught him that one well.
No matter how thirsty, how hungry, how fatigued, how hot or cold the dog became… he could do nothing – would do nothing – till the master gave the word.
The woman went back into the house and called the newspaper. Placed an ad in the lost and found. Returned to the porch with her digital camera. Took pictures of the dog that she could use on flyers around the neighbourhood.
Three or four times as the evening wore on she came to the porch to check on him. And each time, there he was… sitting in the same spot, the food and water apparently untouched.
She got up several times during the night to check on him, and found the same.
Morning came. The dog had drifted off to sleep at some point, but was now awake… still sitting, still waiting in the corner of the porch.
He was tempted by the water. Oh, so tempted. And the chicken was the best thing he’d ever smelled. But he knew from hard experience that taking even one lap or bite could cost him dearly.
His bowels and bladder strained. But he knew – also from hard experience – that he dare not allow them to evacuate. Stay meant Stay. It meant Do Not Move a Muscle. It meant Do Absolutely Nothing Till I Say So.
The woman came out with her breakfast and ate on the steps a few feet away from the dog. She made some gentle, concerned noises. She touched the top of his head and he allowed her, but he shrank back into himself when she tried to scratch behind his ears.
The next time she came out of the house, she was on her way to work… a stack of flyers with the dog’s photo sitting on top of her papers and folders.
The dog heard her footsteps go away down the stairs, and closed his eyes, and tried not to think.
The dog passed another day on the porch. And another night. And the woman worried. No one called. No one came to claim the dog. And… since he was a good dog, and had been told to stay, he stayed.
By the third day, he had trouble sitting up. His vision was blurred. He choked with thirst. But still he would not touch the water.
On the fourth day, the woman came out of the house and found him stiff and cold and lifeless. And cried. Because it’s always sad when the world loses a good dog.

Cry me a river
That flows through fields of dreams
Through the wings of the nightingale
And twilight memories
An angel's gentle kiss
Of lifeless breath within your mind
So beautiful the symphony, disjointed and sublime
Close your eyes and dream your life away, away
Forever and a day, queens of the May
Beckon you to dream your life away
See though the mirror
How it seems ever clearer now
Translucent and so surreal
My scars just fade away
A passion play of shadows
Sings a midnight serenade
The rush of guilt for all my thoughts
Comes to light as another day
Close your eyes and dream your life away, away
This abstract masquerade in disarray
You're the pawn, so dream your life away
The willow tree, I engraved your name
A thousand tears, it still remains
Cold November rains wash your blood from my veins
And as the hours meld into the years
Windows to my soul reveal
The answer to my prayers
Is not the dream, but to believe
Close your eyes and dream your dreams away, away
Forever and a day, queens of the May
Beckon you to dream your life
Close your eyes and dream your life away, away
Sanctuary, I can't face another day
So I'll dream my life away

” The shiny things, The gold the silver…. Anything nice Expensive and loud, I adored the envy Yearned for the jealousy; I saw how the others Tried to have What I had, But those shiny things Couldn’t keep me Warm at night, They couldn’t protect me, Listen or be my friends; They were lifeless Heartless and emptiness, And then I met you; You were shiny too But it was a whole Different bling and shine “

Spring started today. The snow and ice melt in a race, the dead earth is revealed beneath them, which comes to life without delay as the sun warms its lifeless surface. Flowers, grasses, ants and ladybugs wake up, birds sing tender love songs and I put sunglasses on my eyes, drink my morning coffee outside in my watchtower, enjoy the miracle happen and smile.

There was a time when my family and I had an aquarium with 4 fish (one for each member of the family). My mother's fish was very conceited and his name was Nabucodonosor. My sister's was the prettiest. She was always the spoilt child of the house, that's why she could choose the most beautiful fish. His name was Nepomuceno. Mine had to be red, because I was always red of the "Reds" of Anfield, Liverpool and their a cappella song and sporting liturgy "You'll Never Walk Alone". He was an unruly, playful fish I called Nicéforo. And the one my father chose looked helpless and defenceless. He called him Norberto. He chose him because for my father all people deserved respect, but especially the most helpless and defenceless. He also picked up from the street an abandoned and defenceless cat that he also called Norberto. His fixation with this name has always caught my attention. It's strange that my parents didn't decide to call me... Norberto. Someone explained to us that fish have a memory of only a few seconds. Hence the phrase "you have less memory than a fish". But that's not true. Some fish can remember their predators for at least a year. Post-traumatic stress. One of the animals with the shortest memory are seals. Good thing we didn't decide to have four seals at home. The bathtub would have always been occupied. Since the fish didn't pay much attention to us, perhaps because of their lack of memory, we decided to shorten their names. Nabucodonosor became "Na", Nepomuceno "Ne", Nicéforo "Ni" and Norberto "No". They were the "NaNeNiNo". The cat was lucky... He kept his name and continued to be called Norberto. Little by little and one by one, the "NaNeNiNo" left our lives. Nicéforo was the last one. He was left alone in the aquarium / Forbidden City. He was its last tenant and emperor. He appeared one day on the surface with his body arched and lifeless. It was a very sad day for me. I had lost my little "Red", the last emperor of the "NaNeNiNo" dynasty, my little friend "You'll Never Walk Alone"... I lost Ni.
This picture is dedicated to my parents, my sister and the "NaNeNiNo". Well... I also dedicate it to Norberto the cat, although I suspect his feelings towards fish were different from the rest of the family. The aquarium was always dirty on the outside and with smudges of his nose and paws on the glass. Norberto, the cat, had no memory, he lived absolutely in the future, a future more tasty and succulent for him... When he watched the fish, his lower jaw collided with his upper jaw and his teeth began to "chatter". He would run his tongue along the glass of the aquarium, trying to catch one of the "NaNeNiNo".
An Emotional Fish - Careless Child
At the end of Pink Floyd's "Fearless", the Liverpool supporters can be heard singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" a capella.
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
For your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Liverpool! Liverpool!
This Is Anfield - You'll Never Walk Alone
....
PS: Parents almost always have solutions for all their children's problems. The loss of "Ni" was replaced by the arrival of a ten-day-old puppy dog, who, if not adopted, was going to be put down. Our particular jungle, which also included a parakeet called "Periquito" ("Parakeet"... It's strange that my father didn't call him Norberto) and two tortoises called Raquel Welch and Brigitte Bardot, was joined by a new member in the form of a puppy dog that we had to feed with hundreds of bottles. What I never understood, and I don't think I ever will understand, is why I named him... Música (Music).
....
PS: Do not turn away from the child you were and that you carry in your heart. Do not betray it. Take care of it and carry it always with you, because then... You'll Never Walk Alone.

Winter on Poësia
An icy wind sweeps across voiceless, lifeless fields
And the shadow cast by the bare trees holds its breath
Under the gray and fading light
From a winter day with tired sky
Colored in white and gray
Upside down.
The Nordic winter is badly loved. So is the natural law which is at its core, and seems constraining for a society under the illusion that could escape it. . . in complete comfort.
And yet ... It's in winter ...
... that the magic of the starry sky gives us the impression of being able to touch, with our hands, infinity
... that the full moon floods the too long nights with its play of impressionist light and shadows
… Let the children come home with their cheeks reddened with happiness
... that the landscape offers itself to artists unpretentiously
... that we recognize in ourselves this irresistible summer, the promise of a scintillating tomorrow.
There, a fence collapsed under the combined force of the wind and the weight of the snow. The farmer will have to fix it.
Winter, as life itself, means perseverance.

(Whoa) It's unforgettable

Another change is coming
A separation from defiant
(To self-reliant baby)
I feel the weather breaking
It's turning rain into fire
(To take it higher baby)
With blind eyes open wide
I'm seeing it
I feel a rise inside me
It's untouchable (Whoa)
Like breathing fire in me

Took this last night, before the weather became too windy and drizzly to continue, it wasn't my night as I even trod in dog shit crossing over the grass verge to get this angle, it infuriates me how often people do not pick up after their animals, and the dodgy looks from passing motorists and people watching me doing an improvised boot cleansing moonwalk, at every 30 second exposure, however, that said I'm happy how this turned out as another addition for Dark City Deutschland, do please check out the other photos in the collection.
Question remains, would you stay on board this train?
I hope everyone had a great weekend and so as always, thank you! :)
Lyrics
Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silouhette,
A lifeless face that you'll soon forget,
My eyes are damp from the words you left,
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
And if you're in love, then you are the lucky one,
'Cause most of us are bitter over someone.
Setting fire to our insides for fun,
To distract our hearts from ever missing them.
But I'm forever missing him.
And you caused it,
And you caused it,
And you caused it

Of winter’s lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer’s secret
Deep down within its heart.

I captured this image late this afternoon whilst finishing up a 1-2-1 with a new female client. The light came good right at the end of a rather grey, flat and lifeless day and knowing the Lake District as well as I do, I know that the Langdale Pikes shine like a beacon when a little bit of light hits them.
I am so pleased with this image. I used a LEE Big Stopper to shoot it at 25 seconds as I wanted the smooth off the water in order to have the rocks stand out more. I love the yellow grasses at the base of the central rock. They play as much a role in creating an atmosphere as the light on the main peak does.

I felt a cold touch on my hand as I cried out desperately in the swamp of lost souls. It was cold, a very cold, lifeless and numb touch. As the veil of mist began to part, you stood before me like a flower blooming in a fire. A frenzied silence pervaded the atmosphere. I was staring into your eyes, out of breath. It could be a dream, you could disappear when I breathe, I wanted to hold my breath and make this moment eternal.
You were smiling, that magical smile that carries the traces of the best memories of the past. Your smile, which I have turned into a philosophy of life after you. Your smile is the most immortal of the moments that I look for everywhere and everyone and feel free and happy. Your smile.
After you left, I never stopped looking for you. I knew you were watching me and waiting for me. I came smashing the forbidden paths of darkness. Now the bards can play our song for the last time. You will find peace while the music of your lost soul is ringing in our ears.
Don't worry my love, when the end time comes, I will find you in the holy land...

You who raise a prayer
from your shady and safe haven
beyond the blue texture of that sky
there is no god who can listen to you
I plunge my hands in the dust
in vain searching for other hands
but sharp stones and lifeless bodies
hurt my weak flesh
It is useless to cry or curse
the guardian angels have fled
it's just you and me now
abandoned in the midst of the universe

As I look out my kitchen window today all I see is ice and snow. We've been in a horrible freeze here in the UK for the past 5 or 6 days and it feels bloody cold. It's hard to believe that this picture of this flower in one of our outdoor flower boxes was taken just 10 days ago. Today the same little flower, for it is tiny, is nothing but a lifeless frozen clump.
I haven't amped the colour in this by the way, even though it may look it. It was taken using a ring flash with my macro lens, not a combination that I use very often for flower photography but one which I may consider more often in the future.

A lot of life in the cold and deep lagoon
Although many visitors might think of the lagoon as a lifeless lake it is far from the truth. The lagoon is full of life and is filled with herring, trout, salmon, and krill drifting from the sea with the tides. Often a large number of seals are playfully enjoying the day in the water, and thousands of seabirds are nesting nearby, especially the Arctic terns, skuas, gannets, and puffins. And after you finish enjoying the lagoon, a walk to the shore, the Diamond Beach is worth the time you spend viewing the melting icebergs moving around on the pebble beach.

I will love you, my dear
till death do us part
Till I no longer breathe
I'll hold you deep in my heart
Till my eyes no longer open
and my heart no longer beats
My love will grow strong
from my head down to my feet
Till my body is frozen
stiff, pale, and cold
Till I'm lying six feet under
lifeless and without a soul
Till my blood no longer runs
pumping through my veins
My love will be uplifting
just like a summer rain
I know that what I'm saying
may be a little too much
But, it's the least i can say
about that special place you touch
Even though falling in love
came to me as a surprise
Every day I feel better
because I get to look into your eyes
When saying how much I love you
I just don't know where to start
But, to sum it all up
I'll love you till death do us part

This is for my close friends Toshi&Makoto! I´m freaking out your wedding is comming soooooon! Can´t wait to see you both in your suits *___*
Finally I´m done! One of my personal favorites I´ve made in the last time. 2 days work but every second was worth it. It made so much fun to focus more on drawing and coloring!
Thank you all for your amazing support! ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡
In what turned out looking like a touch of Silent Hill, this is my first real venture into heavier processing, this carpark I stumbled upon walking back from the Northern side of the Vattenfall power station, with its complete lack of vehicles and nil signs of life, beyond that of the lights of course, was a feel for a more experimental and extreme side of the Dark City Deutschland collection, parts of the shot were blacked out and the trees were partially obscuring the industries behind, in trying to correct it I realised by taking them out completely, the whole new dimension presented itself.
I like pushing boundaries sometimes.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and so as always, thank you! :)
Pretty proud of this shot, I think it's one of the better ones i've taken.
Arrived at the lone tree on Llyn Padarn in Snowdonia, Wales one morning, the sky was grey and lifeless, the wind was biting, and the whole scene was flat and entirely disappointing...
Then, out of nowhere the sun broke through the moody clouds over the hills and beams of light shone onto the hills and made the trip all worth while :) I stood, with, unusually, nobody around and watched, and then a few seconds later, the light was gone, and that was that.
Hope you like x

Splinky is a small man, a prisoner of the demon of solitude, who deals with his sadness by clinging to memories of the past that he gathers from a huge chest. He lives in the illusion that his old love still exists, and every day becomes more enamoured by a heap of old, lifeless things, but "Sírio" the guardian angel, will make our clown live in the present, he will be able to say goodbye to his past, and embark on a new life...

In November 2020 just after all the leaves had fallen, we set out to get some shots at Heart Lake.
It was an overcast and dull day with very poor lighting conditions; the trees were bare except for the occasional stubborn leaf; even they were grey and lifeless.

I have come curiously close to the end, down
Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole
Defeated, I concede and
Move closer
I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
How pitiful
It's calling me
It's calling me
It's calling me
It's calling me
And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret, my confidant
As full and bright as I am
This light is not my own and
A million light reflections pass over me
Its source is bright and endless
She resuscitates the hopeless
Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting
And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt
Don't want to be down here soothing my narcissism
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out
Before I pine away
Before I pine away
Before I pine away
Before I pine away
So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
Just let the light touch you
And let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away
Mums are a lush, colorful addition to any landscape during the fall season when other elements of your landscape start to look
drab and lifeless.
The loud wind never reached the ship,
Yet now the ship moved on!
Beneath the lightning and the Moon
The dead men gave a groan.
They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose,
Nor spake, nor moved their eyes;
It had been strange, even in a dream,
To have seen those dead men rise.
The helmsman steered, the ship moved on;
Yet never a breeze up-blew;
The mariners all 'gan work the ropes,
Where they were wont to do;
They raised their limbs like lifeless tools—
We were a ghastly crew.

As the moonlight shines down on the barren forest, the lifeless trees seem to whisper their secrets to the wind. Their gnarled and twisted branches tell a story of a long-forgotten past, of a time when the forest was teeming with life. Once, the forest was a lush and vibrant place, filled with the chirping of birds, the buzz of insects, and the rustling of leaves. The trees were young and strong, their branches reaching up towards the sky in a proud and majestic display. But as time passed, the forest began to change. The climate grew colder, and the sun's warm rays became scarce. The trees struggled to survive, their leaves withering and falling to the ground. The animals fled, and the forest grew quiet and still. As the years turned into centuries, the trees continued to endure. They grew twisted and gnarled, their branches reaching out like bony fingers in a desperate attempt to grasp what little life remained. The forest became a place of eerie silence, haunted by the memories of what once was.

A few days ago here in Berlin, it was snowing the whole day, it is currently absolutely freezing here, it's -12°C tonight! The snow had piled up just a little bit on my balcony but this tiny feather somewhere had landed on it. Grabbing my machine with the Raynox on the 55-200mm VR1 I had to go to ground level to get this shot. Initially, thanks to the lack of natural Sunlight, there was no colour, it looked very near monochrome and lifeless; so this where the WB comes into play. "Direct Sunlight" gave this subtle blue/green hue and added a note of winter tonality which was lacking in the original Auto setting. Incandescent was too harsh as was Fluorescent.
The result was this softened and may I say beautiful subtlety of a clean feather on untouched snow, I have another one much more close, which I will post up soon enough. Needless to say, my fingers were frozen!
I hope everyone is well, wishing all a great weekend and so as always thank you! :)
Winter is taking hold and starting to set in here in the Big Sky Country my friends! All plant life is lifeless and drab until next spring. Days are short and nights are long! Movin on...have a great day people! Thank you!

When I stepped out of the car at Tiburon the wind was whipping and I felt underdressed for Thomas Jackson’s “Collaborative Nature” exhibit. Half a mile later, I was grateful for the wind - the installation would have been lifeless without it. An acre or two of taffetta windsocks on flexible wire poles, stood up on a point at the water's edge.
