If this isn't a luck bringing duo, then I don't know either. Promisingly bigger than a thumbnail (this year especially big, in diameter like my whole thumb!) and smaller than one. Clover is supposed to bring good luck – but I've heard that the four-leaved has a little more of it ready ... The forget-me-not in combination can only promise good things – no more time for the blues, even if the blue shines so brightly ;-)

Wenn das nicht ein glückbringendes Duo ist, dann weiß ich auch nicht. Vielversprechend größer als ein Daumennagel (dieses Jahr ganz besonders groß, im Durchmesser wie mein ganzer Daumen!) und kleiner als ein solcher. Klee soll ja angeblich Glück bringen – allerdings habe ich gehört, dass der Vierblättrige ein wenig mehr davon parat hat ... Das Vergissmeinnicht in Kombination kann doch nur Gutes verheißen – keine Zeit mehr für den Blues, auch wenn das Blau noch so doll leuchtet ;-)

When I was a child, we did not have a TV until I was six years old and my parents would spend the evenings reading and listening to the radio. It seemed to me highly desirable to read books, thus I became an avid reader and I read all the children books in our small community library twice over. When I was eleven years old and there were no new books available, I moved on to read my parents' books and I remember the first books that I read were the books of Gwen Bristow. Certainly, I did not understand everything at that age, but I loved them so much, that I read her books over the years many times again, first in German then in English, and still love them. What you see here are some of those old books from my parents' book shelves.
Als ich ein Kind war, hatten wir keinen Fernseher bis ich sechs Jahre alt war, und meine Eltern verbrachten die Abende mit Lesen und Radiohören. Es erschien mir sehr erstrebenswert, Bücher zu lesen, und so wurde ich eine eifrige Leserin und las alle Kinderbücher in unserer kleinen Gemeindebibliothek zweimal durch. Als ich elf Jahre alt war und es keine neuen Bücher mehr gab, ging ich dazu über, die Bücher meiner Eltern zu lesen, und ich erinnere mich, dass die ersten Bücher, die ich las, die Bücher von Gwen Bristow waren. Natürlich habe ich in diesem Alter nicht alles verstanden, aber sie haben mir so gut gefallen, dass ich diese Bücher im Laufe der Jahre immer wieder gelesen habe, erst auf Deutsch, dann auf Englisch, und ich liebe sie immer noch. Was ihr hier seht, sind ein paar dieser Bücher aus dem Bücherschrank meiner Eltern.
