I signed up for a challenge called "A Month of Letters", where you send out at least one letter or postcard every postal day in February. No big deal, right? I'm trying to make it at least one long letter a day, though. So far I've sent out four: this is the only one for which I scanned the envelope.

Artistamps by Danielle Maret Pierce-Williams (Bride of Frankenstein), Terra Candella (colorful abstract), I-forget-the-artist's-name at Red Fox Press (alternative?), and GinaVisione (Dangerous Mail Art). Little mailbox photo over address is from Mandy Fariello. Gorgeous deco tape on back (the shiny gold doesn't scan well) also handmade by Danielle.

Are any of you out there into writing and receiving loooong letters—about thoughts, reflections, emotions...not just chatty news? If so, drop me a line! You can either write straight to the address for me on the envelope, or enter your postal address (you can leave the rest blank) in my address book (don't worry: only I can see it).

Another example from numerous mail art envelopes I've been making since signing up for the Month of Letters challenge. Artistamps by C. T. Chew (sombrero lure) and myself (Pisceana). Olivia is into arrows, so I fashioned an arrow-themed diagram on the back, typical of many I had to memorize in medical school. =laugh=

Once again, I'll say that if you're into writing & receiving long letters about ideas, emotions, memories, reflections on books/art/movies/music—not just chatty news—either write to me at the address on the envelope, or put your address into my address book. (Don't worry: I'm the only one who can see it.) It would be nice, if you do the latter, if you drop me a short Flickr mail, so I know where your address came from. Thanks!

Some cool mail today! And of course, I will write back to both! Do you know it's Letter Writing Month? I intend to write a postcard or letter a day for every day there's postal delivery! You can write me (see address in bio) and I will write you back. (Hint: Remember to include your address!) And, I will writethe first three people to message me their address, but you still have to write me back.

Some people are impressed that I can write letters in a car. What's more impressive is taking a decent picture.

A Month of Letters is a challenge to write one letter everyday for the month of February and return any letter that you receive. It is the brain-child of author Mary Robinette Kowal, who we are happy to count as a member. Learn more at lettermo.com/
