That which appears to be so isn't, necessarily, so.

That which appears to be perfectly symmetrical in its aesthetics is, in truth, perfectly asymmetrical and imperfect in its beauty.

A striking Eclettica neck adornment which proffers numerous signature touches. We're talking about those cascades of chains sashaying at the focal; those precisely-coiled swirls and whirls positioned in delightful disarray; those vivid colours which beguile onlookers; and, in particular, that visual ode to my fetish for all things uneven.

Spellbound In Green Manors (love you to death, Mr Hitchcock) is a lithe yet exceptionally stunning fabrication of all these signature Eclettica accents.

The gemstones I've incorporated into this design are:-

>> 47mm Baltic Amber Focal weighing 83 Carats (woah)

>> Kenyan Red Ruby

>> Vesuvianite

>> Peach Moonstone

>> Mystic Smokey Quartz

>> Madeira Citrine

>> African Dark Red Ruby

>> Lemon Quartz

>> Orange Sapphire

As clearly evident, 999 Fine as well as 925 Sterling Silver Wires have been used with a liberal hand here, gloriously accompanied by Sterling Silver Chains in two different patterns and sizes.

Spellbound In Green Manors currently measures 19", a length which is implicitly customisable to your preference, with a pendant drop of approximately 5" in all.

These earrings are glowing and alive with color. They're the second in a series of post-style earrings that I'll be introducing in the near future.

The posts have been made with sterling silver wire and decorated with tiny sterling beads. The gem cocktail includes the following stones: Two magnificent lemon quartz teardrop briolettes that I hand-pick from my local gemshow for their clarity and color, and a mix of top quality, micro-faceted rondelles in pink garnet, sunstone, and golden rutile quartz.

I've left these with a bright finish, but you can choose to have them oxidized for an extra $5. Just put a note in "notes to seller" after purchase, and I'll send you a revised invoice.

Measurement: 1 7/16 inches from the post of each earring down to the bottom of the briolette

Weight: 4 grams per earring

This necklace is a smaller version of my Gemstone Circle collection pieces, this piece was sold to a lovely lady for her birthday

Sparkling Oro Verde quartz are the players in this sparkling pair---Beautiful Gems! These are one of my simpler designs for those who like coiled wire jewelry without all the frills.

The frames of each earring were shaped, soldered, and hammered for strength, and then coiled with fine-gauge wire. The faceted, top quality, Oro verde quartz briolettes were secured the the frame and then wrapped tightly with wire to create a "cap" over the top of each.

They hang ever so gracefully from a pair of handmade and secure ear-wires. Each one has a stamped Hill Tribe bead for a little extra somthin.

All metal components are sterling silver. They have been oxidized to compliment the stones and to highlight the wire design.

Measurement: 2 1/4 inches from the tops of ear-wires

Weight: 3 grams per earring

This beautiful one of a kind piece was inspired by the jewelry from the movie "The Duchess" It is actually a fusion of her wedding necklace and her beautiful cameo brooch and is part of the Etsy Wire Artisans Guild Challenge for May, themed "Royal Wedding".

This particular piece is made from bronze coated copper wire. The medallion which is woven with 2mm copper beads, 4mm bronze freshwater pearls,3mm cream freshwater pearls, forms a burnt citrine flower "cameo" in the center. It also has 2 faceted briolette peridots an 2 faceted briolette lemon quartz forming the leaves.

It has 3 cascades dripping down with freshwater pearl and burnt citrine and 3 huge 12-14mm freshwater pearl "drop" pearls. One on the center cascade off the medallion and one between the freshwater pearl chain tiers on each side of the neck.

The best thing of all about this necklace is that it has a hook closure and is adjustable up to a 19" neckline.

The Glitz Lounge challenge for the month of October is to use a comic character as your muse. So I thought, what would happen if the Tasmanian Devil got into my bead box? Chaos for sure!

Microfaceted gemstones in a myriad of colors are wirewrapped to a gold fill "tornado." Stones include: apatite, iolite, rock crystal, carnelian, fire opal, garnet, peridot, amethyst, lemon quartz, prasiolite, aquamarine, smokey quartz and rutilated quartz.

The gemstones were picked in a totally random fashion - would Taz be organized?

Some days I think women really get the raw end of the deal. We have to work so much harder to put forth the acceptable exterior that society has come to expect from us. The hair, the makeup, the clothes. Men can roll right out of bed, jump into whatever clothes are handiest, and they're ready to go. Not us...we have an entire rigamarole to go through.

But in spite of all the extra hassle, I love being a girl. So what if I have to shave my legs? So what if I have to buy hundreds of dollars in cosmetics and skin care every year, just trying to find that "perfect look". I love it. We have so much variety to choose from! Take our clothing, for example. When it's time to get dressed up, what do guys get to wear? Pants, shirt, tie. Same basic cut, same basic idea every time. And if it's a really fancy occasion, they get to wear a tux...just a slightly more uncomfortable version of the suite and tie. But women...we get to choose from hundreds of different cuts, colors, sizes, shapes, and fabrics! And the accessories, oh, the accessories! That's my absolute favorite part.

While we may have to work a little harder and put forth a little extra effort, it's totally worth it!

Happy Valentine's Day to all you ladies out there. You look mah-velous!

(This was my Valentine's Day gift to myself. Lemon quartz ring from an estate jeweler from whom I purchased a vintage amethyst ring last year at an antique show.)

Better here...View On Black

In researching my piece for this week's theme of Whirligig (that's a toughie, Shirley!), I discovered that there are quite a number of things called Whirligig.

Here's just a tiny sampling:-

(a) Whirligig is a group of innovative musicians dedicated to pushing the envelope of modern acoustic music, using the common threads of music rooted in the Irish and Celtic traditions.

(b) A Whirligig is an object that spins or whirls, or has at least one member that spins or whirls in the wind.

(c) The Whirligig Beetle is a water beetle that normally lives on the surface of water with a habit of swimming rapidly in circles when alarmed.

I was stunned. I hit a creative brick wall. Imagine what a whirl my mind was in! And that's when it hit me!

I would create something to expose how my mind "looked" each time something threw me off.

These earrings you see here? These are what transpired as my multiple trains of thought progressed from frontal lobes to hands.

Wire has been gently manipulated into twirls and curls a la teeny ringlets to show the invisible knots and twists I experience whenever something intrigues, confuses or upsets me. I used 14K Gold Wire to show off that, emmm, flamboyant part of my personality and also to demonstrate that whilst I'm not a perpetual optimist, I'm also not an eternal pessimist, who tries to bypass her cynicism and see the heart of gold in everyone she meets. Then come the petite pearls, little hints of shine to, you know, illustrate that despite all the curve balls life throws my way, there's always a ray of light, or two or three, that seep through and lift me up.

The selection of colors here was very intentionally dark + light for several reasons. Firstly, to symbolize the light and dark sides inherent in us all, and secondly, to visually showcase my frequent mood swings which I often attempt to cloak under the guise of artistic temperament. Suffice to say, neither my man nor my child are buying that.

AA Polished Chrysoprase Briolettes are for those happy moments when Eve still calls me mummy; when a piece of wire bends to my will; when my man cooks dinner.

AAA Iolite Teardrops are for those in betweeners like when I would cheerfully throttle the lady next door because she thinks I am so "free" just because I work from home; when the check-out girl at the Thai supermarket talks to me in Thai just because I'm Asian; when my man doesn't cook dinner.
