Gotta keep the stove hot so it cook right
If everybody eating that's a good night
Had to take a loss 'fore I took flight
Hard times made for a good life
I said being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich, yeah
Life is like a dice, so watch
the ones you're rolling with.

Thanks for views, faves and comments! ;-)
Lecrae is the best Christian rapper hands down
The Deluxe edition includes his last 2 albums and it came out Tuesday and I just got it today at Target!
For Flickr Friday #Pale my first thought was this vinyl record I have which is an off white or in some light a pale yellowish color. So, I put the vinyl on the turntable and snapped this picture. #FlickrFriday #flickrfriday

Just thought I would share some tunes with you today as they make life awesome. First off is some clean rap, "what is that you say?" thats right, I said clean rap :P Anyways there are many good artists out there including Lecrae and Trip Lee, here is a song from Trip for your eardrums. Or rap is not your style? How about some rock, Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK) is probably my fav but there are other good ones such as Kutless or Fireflight, here is a track from TFK. Finally, what about some lighter rock? I use to only be into heavier stuff but since listening to Air 1 I have developed a taste for lighter stuff as well so here is one from Run Kid Run called Freedom. Anyways, thanks again for the visit :)
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

"It's better to create something that others criticize than to create nothing and criticize others" ~ Ricky Gervais / Lecrae
Location: Chalong Pier, Phuket Thailand
Canon 6D, 1/800 sec, ISO 640, single RAW handheld, multiple exposures created then blended with Raya Pro
Lecrae opens his memoir “on the outside” … with Jay-Z and Beyonce. He then draws the curtain back on his childhood, where fatherlessness and the verbal and sexual abuse he endured create a void in his life which is filled, at least partially, by hip-hop. He describes Tupac as a “second parent.”

I’ll wrap up today with this shot of the doorway leading into the new store, which for the whole year of 2017 proudly wore this emblem celebrating Books-a-Million’s 100th year in operation. I’m so glad they decided to carry on for year 100 (and beyond!) here in Southaven! Next time, we’ll head inside for 10 bonus pics of the interior that I’ve taken on numerous subsequent visits to this store (as I go here pretty often). But remember, if you’re impatient, you can always check out my original tour in the album here :) Of course, also be sure to come on back this Saturday for the promised Overstock photoset… and for today’s music recommendations, a special Switchfoot set! For reasons. (I’ve got 12 albums and 126 songs on my iPod, so this ain’t the complete thing yet! But I do intend to get there, so if I choose to post the rest in the future, keep an eye out for that…)
1. Ode to Chin (to note, these aren’t in any particular order, such as release date or my favorites; I simply hit shuffle.)
2. The Sound (John M. Perkins’ Blues)
3. Meant to Live 🔥
4. Might Have Ben Hur
5. Sooner or Later
6. Gone 🔥
7. Redemption 🔥
8. The Fatal Wound
9. Adding to the Noise 🔥 (I know it seems like I’m only giving songs from The Beautiful Letdown fire emojis, but I promise, that’s just due to the way my shuffle has chosen to play things. I’ll give other albums some love too, don’t worry.)
10. Prodigal Soul
11. Needle and Haystack Life 🔥 (see, here’s one of those other-album offerings now!)
12. You Already Take Me There 🔥
13. Ba55 🔥
14. Oh! Gravity 🔥
15. Dirty Second Hands 🔥 (Switchfoot’s style can vary, but this is the most un-Switchfoot-like one I think I’ve heard. And yet I still love it.)
16. Dig New Streams 🔥
17. Chem 6a 🔥
18. Afterlife 🔥 (you shouldn’t have bugged me to flag other albums with fire emojis, now we’re just entering a never-ending stream of the things)
19. The World You Want
20. Amy’s Song
21. Incomplete 🔥
22. You
23. We’re Gonna Be Alright
24. All or Nothing at All
25. The Original 🔥
26. Learning to Breathe (only 100 more to go XD )
27. Dare You to Move 🔥
28. This is Your Life 🔥
29. Where I Belong 🔥
30. Enough to Let Me Go 🔥
31. Voices 🔥
32. The Setting Sun
33. Dare You to Move (yes, some are duplicates. For completeness [so that the list gets to 126], I’m keeping them in there.)
…and that’s the end of day one of listening. I’ll probably come back and edit this with the rest, so stay tuned.
---------------------
34. Back to the Beginning Again (indeed!)
35. Let it Happen
36. More Than Fine 🔥 (I hate AT&T, so I don’t mean for this suggestion to be taken seriously… but this song does admittedly seem like it would go well with their current ad campaign.)
37. Redemption (this is one of my duplicates, and I gave it a fire emoji earlier, so I’m refraining from doing so again, but it’s really difficult please help me)
38. Take My Fire
39. American Dream
40. Burn Out Bright
41. Love is the Movement 🔥
42. The Loser
43. Ammunition 🔥
44. The Shadow Proves the Sunshine
45. Living is Simple
46. Company Car 🔥
47. This is Home
48. New Way to Be Human 🔥
49. Yet
50. Say It Like You Mean It 🔥
51. Ammunition
52. On Fire 🔥
53. Mess of Me 🔥
54. The Strength to Let Go
55. 4:12 🔥
56. Politicians 🔥 (a song we can all get behind!)
57. Concrete Girl
58. Vice Verses 🔥
59. Erosion
60. You’re the One I Want
61. This is Your Life (again, so. very. hard. not to put a fire emoji next to the duplicates…)
62. Don’t Be There
63. Love Alone is Worth the Fight 🔥
Halfway through seems like a good place to stop for day two! Hopefully I’ll get through the whole list quickly…
---------------------
Let's try for live updates for night three! Not that I anticipate many of y'all will be sitting here actively refreshing this photo page, but it's a fun idea nonetheless :P
64. Let Your Love Be Strong
65. Home
66. Yesterdays
67. Bullet Soul 🔥
68. Dark Horses 🔥
69. Souvenirs (this song snuck up on me; Dark Horses ran perfectly seamlessly into it. Turns out, Souvenirs immediately follows Dark Horses on Vice Verses. What are the odds of shuffle putting those two right beside one another?!)
70. The Blues
71. Meant to Live
72. Lonely Nation
73. Always
74. Amateur Lovers
75. Red Eyes
76. Bomb
77. The Economy of Mercy
78. The Beautiful Letdown
79. White Lies
80. All I Need
81. Hello Hurricane
82. Adding to the Noise
83. I Turn Everything Over
84. Playing For Keeps 🔥
85. Thrive 🔥
86. Daisy
87. Your Love is a Song 🔥
88. Easier Than Love 🔥
89. Free 🔥
90. Oxygen 🔥
91. Head Over Heels (In This Life)
92. Selling the News 🔥 (I was wondering when this one would finally show up!! I doubt I could pick a favorite Switchfoot song - clearly, I've given fire emojis to a whole lot of 'em! - but this one always stands out. [Again, that isn't to say others don't - just thought I'd share that here, haha])
93. Let It Out 🔥 (another great one! I just can't name but a few off the top of my head, is all.)
94. Circles 🔥
95. Twenty-Four 🔥 (ah, finally, the last song from The Beautiful Letdown! Took it long enough; all the others have played already [some twice]. In keeping with all the others, this one gets a fire emoji, too. That album is just awesome. Longtime followers may [or may not] be surprised to learn I have it in my car's CD player this week. You would also probably not be surprised to learn this is the very first time I've replaced the CD that had been in there exclusively for, oh, probably two years now. Name that CD in the comments and you win 400 follower points!* * - No cash value.)
96. Slipping Away
97. We Are One Tonight (this is weird... I just realized not a single song from Where the Light Shines Through has played. I guess they must all be coming up after 100...? EDIT: well dang, that's odd! It's not showing that album at all, for some reason. No wonder it hasn't been playing. I know it's on my iPod, and if I look up songs individually they appear, but neither under "albums" or "artists --> Switchfoot" does it show. Strange... I guess I'll just have to add those separately at the end of this list, haha!)
98. Rise Above It 🔥
99. Golden
100. I Dare You to Move (as I've noted before in past lists, this is [technically] different from the usual "Dare You to Move," without the "I" at the beginning)
Well... I'm not sure what's causing that problem with Where the Light Shines Through, but I'll be sure to listen to that one at the end (like I said), as long as I can figure out how to get my iPod to allow me to do that seeing as how it's not wanting to cooperate with me here! Anyway, 100 of 126 (...plus the missing 12) seems like as good a place as any to stop for tonight. Come on back, I hope to listen and have the rest of the list posted soon!
---------------------
So I wasn't able to listen to their full discography before Saturday, unfortunately, but I'm still sticking to my promise and finishing up the endeavor this week (it's now Monday, October 28th as I write this; I started the mission last Monday, October 21st).
101. Innocence Again
102. Wonderful Feeling
103. Happy is a Yuppie Word 🔥
104. Awakening 🔥
105. Poparazzi 🔥 (love this one!)
106. Blinding Light 🔥
107. Restless 🔥
108. Stars 🔥 (would have recognized this one better had I heard it before the concert instead of after, but at the same time, that probably would have ruined the surprise, so I'm okay with it :P )
109. Faust, Midas, and Myself 🔥
110. The Hardest Art (feat. Kaela Sinclair)
111. Let That Be Enough
112. The War Inside 🔥 (is it bad if I want to specify which ones are extra great? Like, I'm giving out fire emojis, that should be enough, but hey...)
113. Something More 🔥
114. Only Hope (another seamless transition - turns out this is another instance where this song immediately follows the one before it, on the album! What are the odds?!)
115. Saltwater Heart
116. Under the Floor
117. Underwater
118. When We Come Alive 🔥
119. Who We Are 🔥
120. All I Need (Acoustic)
121. Don't Want Your Money 🔥
122. Joy Invincible 🔥
123. Native Tongue 🔥 (such a rockin' song)
124. Edge of My Seat 🔥 (I was afraid of this... my count is off by two XD Let's see if I can dig through and find the ones I missed...)
Aha, found 'em! Pretend they're up there in-between 63 and 64 XD
125. Life and Love and Why
126. Sing It Out
---------------------
And, just for completeness' sake, here are the songs from Where the Light Shines Through.
127. Holy Water 🔥
128. Float 🔥 (dude this song is great! Although I'll likely just be repeating this for the whole album, knowing me XD )
129. Where the Light Shines Through 🔥
130. I Won't Let You Go 🔥
131. If the House Burns Down Tonight 🔥 (I'd prefer it didn't, but the song is still a good one :P )
132. The Day That I Found God
133. Shake This Feeling 🔥
134. Bull in a China Shop 🔥
135. Live It Well 🔥
136. Looking for America (feat. Lecrae)
137. Healer of Souls 🔥 (geez, when you put full albums together like this, it really emphasizes how many fire emojis I'm giving out...)
138. Hope is the Anthem
...and that's a wrap! Thanks for following along, folks :)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
He still continues to change me.
This verse always motivates me. It's so easy to seek self satisfaction, but that never makes me happy. I don't say this because I was taught this but I truly feel this way.
I feel that we want to avoid religion but I cannot possibly contain all his great mercy and love bottled up. It's just too amazing of a gift for me to seal my lips.

13. That being said, my all-time favorite singer is Taylor Swift. She is absolutely flawless, and if anyone Disses her, I might have to…. Well let’s not get into that, it’s not pleasant. I also enjoy rap including Lecrae, Mac Miller, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, 2 chainz, Juicy J, Macklemore and Krispy Kreme (If you haven’t heard of Krispy Kreme look him up, he’s hilarious). You're probably wondering, why the heck did I upload a picture of some random guy. Well most of you know, I am a Christian, and obviously I listen to Christian music.
This guy is a Christian rapper, and you are probably thinking that even the thought of Christian rap makes you want to barf or something. Yeah I've heard it before and all that. But if you are looking for answers or something this is who to go to. His name is Lecrae, he is a Christian rapper, and after listening to his music, and his message, I turned my life around.
He preaches the Word of God, and I can help you out and help you along, but this guy is pretty solid. He knows what he is talking about, and he has a pretty great story. Jesus has really worked through him, and Lecrae preaches the gospel of Christ. His message about Christ is so clear, and like I said, it is amazing how Jesus has worked through this man. If it weren't for Christians like Lecrae, then the truth would never be heard.
So go check his music out, just go to youtube or itunes and search Lecrae.
I've kinda focused on him, but God is the only reason why he does so many great things. And it is all for the glory of God.
If you don't care, and all that, just brush this off, but I uploaded this for those who care, cause I know there are people out there who do. FM me if you want to know more.

"Help me Lord before there's no time left I ain't living I'm just breathing to death
Your ways are perfect and they lead me to rest Mine are evil and they lead me to death" Lecrae
The sun fades in the distance but I can only peer through the fence.
I long to feel it's warmth, it's unrelenting embrace, it's unimaginable kindness. The fence shows signs of weakness, ones that on reflection I can easily break through but in the darkness this fence seems like an unassailable barrier keeping me from the light.
The sun fades in the distance as my lungs fill with air, they are full and thriving but as quickly as they fill, they empty with a sigh. I am still breathing, I give thanks. I am breathing but I don't always feel like I'm living...
The sun fades in the distance but the fence still remains. This fence CAN be torn down and the light CAN fill my life but I need to take the first step.
The sun fades in the distance, time is running out. Are you living or are you just breathing to death?

Got the sweet opportunity to shoot Trip a few weeks ago in between sets for a concert he was doing with Jimmy Needham. Only had about 2 minutes with him and got 10 images. This is one of my favs. Can't wait to work with him in the future when we both have more time!

First off, I am a Christian so Jesus is my number 1 Savior, but when I am in a bad mood or having a rough day, nothing picks me up like a good, upbeat song!
Second, I'm not big on self portraits. Rarely am I on this side of the camera but I love music with a passion so I figure this could be a "Here's the Photographer" shot..I'm Christopher Brown. Born and raised in Rock Hill, SC just south of Charlotte. I have been involved in music since kindergarten and I haven't stopped. I went to Trinity Christian School from k5-9th grade. I was in choir at my middle school. In high school, I was in both the large choir, The Troubadours and the director selected honors choir, The Trouvères. We won state every year I was in the choir and when I graduated choir had one 5 out of the last 6, I believe. Now I sing in the choir at my church and do solos every now and then.
I can listen to pretty much every type of music except heavy metal. I just don't see a point to it, but the same some can say for rap or country. I can listen to mainstream pop if it is in someone else's car and I have no control over the radio. ;)
My favorite artist would have to be John Mayer. He is by far the best guitarist of my generation. If you have only heard "Your Body Is a Wonderland" then you haven't heard John Mayer. Go check out Where The Light Is, my favorite album of all time. I also am a fan of alternative music such as Coldplay, Augustana, OneRepublic, The Fray, Muse, and Oasis. I love the likes of Edwin McCain and Hootie and the Blowfish. Nothing can get you in a hyped up mood like a good rap beat, but it was just completely degrading and nothing good came out of it so I stopped listening to it so I happen to stumble across some good Christian rap from a friend and it is awesome! You get the message, and the awesome beats! My favorite would be Lecrae, FLAME, and Trip Lee. I listen to a variety of Christian music. Among my favorites are Chris Tomlin, Switchfoot, Mercyme, Jeremy Camp, Tenth Avenue North, Mikeschair, Fee, Kutless, David Crowder Band, and many more.
This turned out to be longer than I thought it would! Hope you enjoy my list of music! Now show me yours!
