These three erasers are far too good to do their job as erasers. And I think they do not really do their job so well. That's why I could put them on a printed drawing of mine, there they will not eliminate anything ;-) I created this illustration digitally – and there I could erase as much as I wanted ... It was about the "sense" of life, of things, of the world (something like that) and it was for the cover picture of a magazine that is made and published at my job (so it was easy to get the cover picture ...)
These erasers will certainly be a very nice memory of a very good friend for my daughter, from whom she has received this gift. And that may be the sense of these little fellows ...

Diese drei Radiergummis sind viel zu schade, um damit zu radieren. Und ich glaube, sie machen ihre Arbeit auch nicht so wirklich gut. Deshalb habe ich sie auch auf eine gedruckte Zeichnung von mir platzieren können, dort werden sie nichts beseitigen ;-) Diese Illustration habe ich digital erstellt – und da konnte man so viel radieren, wie man will ... Es ging dort um den "Sinn" des Lebens, der Dinge, der Welt (so in etwa) und sie war für das Titelbild eines Magazins, das bei meiner Arbeit erstellt und verlegt wird (also war es ganz einfach, mal auf den Titel zu kommen ...)
Diese Radiergummis bleiben für meine Tochter bestimmt eine sehr schöne Erinnerung an eine sehr gute Freundin, von der sie diese geschenkt bekommen hat. Und das macht vielleicht den Sinn dieser kleinen Gesellen aus ...

Swazey Hotel - Bodie Ghost Town, California
This building is very popular – probably because of how much it leans to one side. Since Bodie is in a “state of arrested decay,” some buildings need to be shored up to keep them from falling down. The Swazey Hotel has been leaning like this for some time now – who knows how long it will stay this way…
At different times, this building served as a clothing store, casino, and the Swazey Hotel.
Dieses Gebäude ist sehr beliebt - wahrscheinlich, weil es sich zu einer Seite neigt. Da sich Bodie in einem "Zustand des Verfalls" befindet, müssen einige Gebäude abgestützt werden, damit sie nicht herunterfallen. Das Swazey Hotel hat sich schon seit einiger Zeit so geneigt - wer weiß wie lange es so bleiben wird ...
Zu verschiedenen Zeiten diente das Gebäude als Bekleidungsgeschäft, Casino und das Swazey Hotel.

I will put up a few more images of this project from time to time. Producing images for this project let me so deep immerse with nature, it almost let’s me melt with it. It’s so special for me.

The Cascades Female Factory is one of 11 historic convict sites recognised by World Heritage - and alas, they don't make females here.
The Female Factory replaced one of the distilleries in 1828, and the high stone walls which kept people away from the grog were equally good for imprisonment. It was damp and dark, being in South Hobart and the shadow of Mount Wellington.
Female convicts were divided into three classes and prevented from communicating. Women in first class, a reward for good behaviour, became cooks, overseers and hospital attendants. Second class was for women who had committed minor offences and they were assigned to needlework; third class washed laundry.
Convict transportation to Tasmania stopped in 1853 and the main site became a jail in 1856, although the women's prison closed in 1877 and the site was auctioned to private buyers in 1905. Three of the five yards have since been repurchased by the Tasmanian state government including the most recent, Yard 4 (shown here), in 2008. This area had a large nursery and buildings to house 80 women and 150 children, and the Matron's Quarters can be seen at the southern end. In 2014 the Female Factory attracted 28,663 visitors, up 22% from the year before. Being on the convict list makes it worth visiting, although as yet there isn't much to see.
This sort of imprisonment was probably the kind of experience that helped make Anne Summers' 'Damned Whores and God's Police (the colonisation of women in Australia) a bestseller in 1975...

and (this is going to sound really stupid) but does can someone tell me how to post a picture in a comment on flickr?
Been busy lately, no time for the "real" photography I crave, but I helped fix these two cats at the shelter I volunteer at and after their surgery I found them cuddled up together. I quickly grabbed my camera, then quietly opened the cage to take a pic. Aren't they cute!?!

Description of editing:
First I did a noise reduction with Neat Image. Then I used Gimp to adjust the white balance and the tones in Curves. Next, I selected their eyes and increased the red a tiny bit, and the blue a lot. After that I selected both cats completely and increased the yellow saturation on them to bring out the brown in their faces and make them a bit warmer than the background. Then, last, I selected both faces and did a moderate unsharp mask, then just selected their pupils and applied another unsharp mask to them to make them appear more sharp.
