Today's main election task was delivering our party's leaflets to a rather large area of countryside. Looking at the map made me think of the Travelling Salesman Problem - how could we visit all these villages and hamlets in the shortest possible time? In the event we only visited a much smaller area because time was running out and it started to rain. We'll be back tomorrow to continue the good work.
As the picture shows the job isn't too arduous. We (one driver and one leafletter) work in beautiful countryside and forest, on quiet roads, and if we are really lucky, in sunshine.
Incidentally, 50 meters further down this road we came across an impressive milestone from the 1800's, showing that this narrow gravel road used to be the main road to Härnösand!
A rose (/ˈroʊz/) is a woody perennial of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwest Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height.
This has me puzzled. Among the usual circulars in our letterbox yesterday was this leaflet for a visitors centre in Navan, Northern Ireland. It would be a bit of a trek from New Zealand but, hey, they have a themed shop so what am I waiting for!?
