The Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) is a member of the duck, goose, and swan family Anatidae. It is native to Africa south of the Sahara and the Nile Valley.

The Proud Leader
In the calm of an early morning, on water barely moving, one swan stepped forward — quietly, confidently, speaking only with his gaze.
He took the lead, steady and composed, guiding his small white procession as they followed the rhythm of the river.
For a moment, it felt like a gentle ceremony of nature, a ritual revealed only to those who wait long enough for the world to exhale.

A large group of shags (phalacrocorax aristotelis) flying in formation in Norway, with the island of Ringvassøya in the back.
It doesn't happen very often anymore, but just a few years ago you could usually count on 485 to give you a good lashup, with the right leader. No disappointment here with ICE 6216 leading the way past the Milwaukee Road era searchlights.
This was one of those cold February days, but the sun offered up some relief as this mixed fright blasts through Duplainville.

RISI rolls over the Allegheny River near Salamanca,NY. Soon they will stop at the Depot to be recrewed and head northward to Buffalo,NY.
SSR’s P17 leads a single BGKF grain wagon and retired Comeng cars 301M-1001T-302M 303M-1002T-304M with T381 trailing to Bendigo at Clarkefield. The grain wagon was going for repairs, the Comeng sets are to be scrapped. The units were heavily vandalised whilst in storage at North Shore yard since August, with large amounts of graffiti and numerous smashed windows. One of the cars was even set on fire, which prompted security to be hired 24/7 to watch over the trains. 301M is the class leader of the Comeng sets. Built from 1981, 187 three car Comeng sets were built by Commonwealth Engineering. They are now progressively being retired, with the oldest ones going first and the last will be retired around 2026. Thursday 14/04/22.

42101 and GM1 ,Preserved class leaders of the 421 class from New South Wales Government Railways and GM1 from the Commonwealth Railways meet up at the 2016 Streamliners event at Goulburn on 30-9-2016
Any of these units would have made for a good leader but WC soon chopped and repainted the ex ACR GP7 fleet so I'm grateful for any shots I have of them still in there original appearance. Train AORELD works south around one of the many curves on the former ACR near Heyden with 1505, 5972 and 6560 leading the ore loads on July 30, 1995.
Hot shot CP freight #904 is leaving Windsor, Ontario with a nice consist, but with the wrong leader LOL . . . in February of 1989.

It was fun watching these Snowy Egrets chase this Double - Crested Cormorat, for it seemed where ever he went there was sure to be some fish.

Class leaders 3801 and 4201 (at the rear) lead a shuttle bound for Hurstville through Carlton on a rather wet day.
Over the weekend of 13-14 March 2021, 3801 had its 'Relaunch Event' and performed its first passenger service runs since its return to service, having been withdrawn for overhaul since 2008.
Over the weekend a number of shuttle services from Central to Hurstville were performed, all of which tickets were completely sold out weeks earlier.

BCOL 4649 & CN 8930 lead CN 321 past CN 527's tail end. With most BCOL cowls retired or stored, it was nice to catch a BCOL leader for the first time in awhile.

General Visor wields a sword stick and sports a single golden stripe so that anyone who didn't notice the visor will still know that he's the second best strategist in Cloud Kingdom.
This was inspired by Inthert's impressive large scaled minifigure parts. That, and I've always wanted to build a large minifigure.
