A late summer evening on the beach at Luskentyre, on the Isle of Harris, in the Western Isles of Scotland. The setting sun is reflected back in to the clouds above the hills of North Harris giving this apocalyptic-like view.
Ghent is a city and a municipality in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is the capital and largest city of the East Flanders province, and the third largest in the country, exceeded in size only by Brussels and Antwerp. It is a port and university city.
The city originally started as a settlement at the confluence of the Rivers Scheldt and Leie and in the Late Middle Ages became one of the largest and richest cities of northern Europe, with some 50,000 people in 1300.
From a prior year. Glacier Lilies bloom in profusion here in places that will be shady after leaf out. They are a month behind schedule here this year because of record snow depths and a cool spring.
As the seasons change, some low-lying clouds remind me that stormy days are ahead. But for now, I enjoy the September colors at the end of the day.

This Roseate Spoonbill was going to get this nest ready for the babies, while working all day to finished !
I spotted this bathing blue tit in the Japanese Garden in Berlin-Marzahn one year ago. This year it was so cold already at the same time, that I had my centra heating on since early September...

Late afternoon around Hücker Moor, one of my favorite places in Autumn.
Hücker Moor is a nice little lake in the Herford area (Northwest Germany). Peat was cut here more than a century ago and created this lovely landscape. Today the place is a great location for wildlife and worth a trip for the local folks in all seasons. Ostwestfalen, Germany
Late one April evening in a freezing northerly wind, with only a few togs to radiate some warmth, in great company with Barb, Brad, Mike and Terry. Handheld Olympus, light fast running out.
