I started off lastnights proceedings at Marsden rock where i waited an hour or so for the tide to retreat far enough to be able to get around the bay nearer to Whitburn.
This is one of the many stacks along this stretch of coast and with the setting sun illuminating one side it was the invitation i needed to take a few shots.I would have liked the tide a bit fuller,but had it of been so i would not have been able to get anywhere near this location.Sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

I snapped these shots around 11:30 pm lastnight ( 9-14-08 ) The sky sure seemed angry, we had a full moon, and high winds, with fast moving dark clouds, and some with an orangish tint. The power flickerd most of the evening, the only damage my property occured was a fallen Cherry tree in my back yard that luckily just missed my shed, and the canvas on my "garage" tore where the gommets are on one side and ripped along the door. Now its just clean up time.
I'm just starting to get into wide field astrophotography. The only way to really learn how to do this is to go out and practice right? I have only just learn't how to set my focus correctly. I don't have a specialist lens yet, this is a 17mm f/4, but I will buy one soon.
I knew there was a meteor shower lastnight. I headed to the outskirts of the city where it is a little darker, but still tonnes of light pollution.
This is not an image I am massively proud of, but I thought I would share it as there's quite a lot going off.
The two vertical streaks at the top are meteors that flashed past in unison. the deep white line is the ISS, and the broken horizontal line below it is a commercial jet.
I did not know the ISS was passing, I did not know how to locate the Milky Way and I did not know which way to point my camera to capture the meteors. Everything here happened in one 30 second exposure, and by chance.
