Created for Orange and Black theme in HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday 😊
The be-witching plaque was made on my computerized laser cutter. Used orange acrylic as the background and black acrylic for the cutout witch and text. It's then glued onto the background. Made them in a few sizes as gifts too. Anyhoo.. the background was some Halloween garland I have, then used a motion blur effect in Photoshop on it. Hope you like! HCT! :-)
At Christmas, a very dear friend of mine, who enjoys photography as much as I do, and knows that I like interesting and delicate bits and pieces gave me some beautiful laser cut paper shapes as a gift.
She also knows that collect beautiful and vintage haberdashery pieces, and last Christmas gave me a wonderful selection of antique ribbons, buttons, buckles, lace and other fine notions in beautiful tins.
Amongst the gifts were some Estonian and Latvian hand dyed lace blooms and butterflies.
I have placed some of the laser cut paper and floral lace pieces together on a black background to give the impression of traditional Eastern European folk art with a twist, which I also think highlights the delicate nature of the laser cut paper which reminds me of wycinanki (Polish paper cutting) and the beauty and bright colours of the lace from Estonia and Latvia. I thought these made a nice image to share with you, especially if it is a cold, grey and wintery day where you are!
A perfect lasercut paper, if only....
This paper has a surface that resembles cashmere wool.
Wonderful soft and creative paper.
One drawback, however.
It seems to vacuum surroundings for dust and hairs, and 'glue' that to its fluffy surface.
Zoom in, and see a world of dust particles, and at least one 'giant' hair mid left.
By the way, another great theme.
Editing macros is a very important, I have discovered :-)

Watercolored laser cut cubes in paper.
Various sizes ranging from small to smaller. Cube pattern is generated from my own algorithms with each cube face being unique. The material size is unbounded, this paper measures about .0276". Each is most delicately pressed together by hand with small tools. No glue. Watercolored invidually by hand.
Touching these cubes gives you a total nerdgasm.
hopefully we will have these for designBoom sydney. had a few problems with the settings, but we had to use the crap laser cutter on the 5th floor.
this is the neutral mesh of a radial version of our radiolaria pattern but a fanciful edge cropping

TED: "It's a speshul day today fer us jigsaw pusslers - it's Nashunnal Jigsaw Day!
Not to be confused wiv Nashunnal Pussel Day, witch is in January an' cellibrates all kinds of pussles, not jest jisaws.
So I sellekted a speshul woodun pussle frum Wentwerf Pussels fer today, a reely difficut one. But it's not difficut at all, jest a bit more fiddly than ushual. I did the bottom edj first an' then worked up frum there, cuz I worked out there wuz a regguler pattern to the peeces. Clever, eh?
I started it on Wensday an' finnished it yestidday (Fursday), but I saved it fer today so I'd 'ave a speshul jigsaw pussle to show yew."

These laser-cut prints are so awesome! They look just like tiny versions of the originals, and you can float mount them in a fancy frame too!

The title piece from my solo show "When We Break" at Roq La Rue Gallery
Inspired by the haunting lyrics of Neutral Milk Hotel
“Goldaline, my dear,
We will fold and freeze together
Far away from here.
There is sun and spring and green forever.
But now we move to feel for ourselves
inside some stranger's stomach.
Place your body here,
Let your skin begin to blend itself with mine. ” - NMH
