The Space Between Us and the Light - No Laptop - I felt out of place.
The Steamer Coffee House & Kitchen (often referred to as Steamers) is a highly-rated, artisan coffee house and restaurant located at Five Bridges along the B3181, positioned between Cullompton and Willand in Mid Devon.

The possibility of losing this competition simply does not compute to me. While the seed part isn’t the most compatible this computer supports every input you need!
My second build for Iron Forge 2026 round 3. The seed part is the motor thingy piece. There are two in this MOC taking advantage of the intakes similar shape to an HDMI port.
Not entirely happy with presentation and the integration of editing on the frog photo but I'm learning. I did manage to sneak in a piece from one of my top scoring MOCs last year!
I began processing this photo a while ago but unfortunately my laptop died while doing so. Was it the Burj or the fact that my laptop was 3 years old and that it had been pushed to its limits...
Anyway, after a lot of time and energy, I finally gave up on the computer and I had to trash it. Thankfully I was able to salvage the HD and recover all of its files.
Fast forward 3 weeks and now armed with my newest editing tool a 21.5" iMac and I finally finished processing this photo. I'm loving my new iMac, it's a vast improvement from my 15" Gateway with dead pixels. I hope to take my processing techniques to the next level with my new computer, but I'm always open to constructive criticism so please let me know if you have any...Thx

I did not fully-anticipate the placement of the button, but I love how it looks like a flower at the end of the tree!
I went to three different stores before I found the lining fabric for this case. It was one of those "pick me!" moments where I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be perfect!
AAW April 13 - 20: Lee Friedlander Part 2
WIT: Since I watch most of my TV on my laptop, and I believe many people do these days, I thought I would update Friedlander's "small screen" with my version of one, which is indeed my laptop. I took a photo of this woman whilst I was at a restaurant where she worked, and thought she looked a lot like an influencer one would see on YouTube of Tik Tok. Since this is the what people watch a lot of these days, as opposed to an actual television show, I thought it would be interesting as an update to what was on screens of yesteryear. I had my glasses and ear pods beside the laptop, because that's the way I watch my shows and YouTube.

The main reason for my trip to Tunisia was to participate in the UN World Summit on the Information Society. Mobiles Arbeiten im öffentlichen Raum

Lassahn/gc. Die Aussicht, mit riesigen Büroflächen auch künftig noch Geld verdienen zu können, verdunkeln sich. Die Corona-Pandemie zerrt eine lang ignorierte Wahrheit ans Licht: Büroarbeit lässt sich mittlerweile an so ziemlich jedem Ort erledigen. Jedenfalls wenn es dort schnelles Internet gibt.
Richtige Chefs können damit sehr gut umgehen, weil sie nicht darauf angewiesen sind, ihre Mitarbeiter zu dominieren. Sie wissen, dass nicht die Anwesenheit im Büro die gewünschten Ergebnisse bringt, sondern die Motivation, die anstehende Arbeit termingerecht in der geforderten Qualität abzuliefern. Damit wird auch klar, dass weniger Bürofläche teuer angemietet, eingerichtet, gereinigt, modernisiert und nicht zuletzt unterhalten werden muss. Ein Teil dieser eingesparten Kosten kann dem mobil arbeitenden Mitarbeiter auf das Gehalt aufgeschlagen werden. Das dürfte seine Motivation zusätzlich erhöhen. Und die Tatsache, dass sich durch das mobile Arbeiten auch Familie, Job und Freizeit sehr viel flexibler gestalten und vor allem unter einen Hut bringen lassen, dürfte für einen zusätzlichen Leistungsschub bei den Beschäftigten sorgen.
Die Voraussetzung dafür sind ein überall verlässliches schnelles Internet, eine umfassende Digitalisierung aller Geschäftsabläufe und eine zuverlässig funktionierende Hardware mit reibungslos arbeitender Software. Wer heute glaubt, dies alles sei noch Zukunftsmusik, hat die Zeichen der Zeit nicht erkannt. All dies ist bereits jetzt möglich und wird oft bereits auch praktiziert. Sichere Internetverbindungen über geschützte öffentliche WLAN- und mobile Netze gehören natürlich ebenso zur modernen Technologie wie Datenschutz und Datensicherheit. So kann man zwar bei schönem Wetter auch am Strand und bei Regen im Cafè seine Büroarbeit erledigen. Doch sollte ausgeschlossen werden, dass Dritte Zugang zu Daten, zum Tablet, zum Smartphone, zum Laptop oder zu Geschäftsunterlagen bekommen. Auch die Möglichkeit, Telefonate mitzuhören, muss ausgeschlossen werden. Wer dafür ein Bewusstsein hat, dem ist zeitlich und räumlich entgrenztes Arbeiten nach weitgehend eigener Maßgabe kein Graus. Im Gegenteil.
So kann die Arbeit echte Erfüllung sein und wird nicht zur Maloche. Doch das mobile Arbeiten betrifft nicht allein die Bürojobs der Zukunft. Die G5-Technologie kündigt die nächste Mobilitätsrevolution an. Durch die rasante Geschwindigkeit des Datenaustauschs in Echtzeit wird es schon bald möglich sein, Kräne, Autos, Roboter und vieles mehr ortsunabhängig zu steuern. Ob dies auf der heimischen Terrasse oder in einem Restaurant, im Zug beziehungsweise auf einer Bergspitze passiert, spielt keine Rolle mehr. Wichtig wird nur noch sein, dass das Ergebnis stimmt.
