We nature lovers walk a fine line.
We want to get up close, but we know it's wrong, unsafe, unnatural and unhealthy for wildlife to be too comfortable around humans. I don't want squirrels to jump in my lap begging for peanuts. But I want to be close enough with my cheap glass to get good shots. This little lady sat for me as if she knew that I just wanted a few pictures. I did not want or need more than a few seconds. I felt like she was looking right at me,into my heart, graciously acknowledging my love and respect. Thank you my love. I hope to see you again soon. Take good care.

We were watching a large group of vultures from a distance as it was impossible to get closer! While watching the group all of a sudden a number of these cultures took-off and headed directly towards our position! What a great opportunity to quickly make some BIF headshots!

Yesterday I uploaded an icy summit view taken from Beinn na Lap, so today I thought I'd follow that up with another scene from the same hike but taken a little later and with a little more colour.
I almost never have my digital camera out when Miles is in my lap.. but this time, I did .. he likes to sleep in my lap for an hour or two at a time....which is pretty good when you consider that he's only 8 months old.
Photo taken in very poor light - but such a sweet pose that I decided to post it anyway. Daisy, curled up asleep in her favourite place - warm & cosy on my lap this week.

Torbie means Jane is a "Tortoiseshell Tabby" but unofficially it means she is part tornado. So getting a photo of her both awake and relaxed is its own feat. Here she is on my lap, having just woken up from a nap.
