Another shot of these cuties the one on the right never took his eyes off the camera in all the shots :)
"The Downs are sheep, the Weald is corn,
You be glad you are Sussex born!"
So wrote Rudyard Kipling, who was actually Mumbai-born, but settled in rural East Sussex in 1897 and wrote praising poetry about his home county. Walking on the South Downs Way, you see indeed a lot of sheep.
It is always a treat in Badlands National Park when the spring Bighorn lambs start arriving. These two are discovering their natural abilities in maneuvering the precipices even while their umbilical cords are still visible.
Continuing the Spring theme, this is a close-up of the lambs from the previous pic. Don't they look happy? Of course, they haven't heard of roast lamb yet..
We were staying on a farm in Spring and there were orphan lambs to feed. They were not frightened of people and encouraged us to bring in the milk. I got to bottle feed one of these very vigorous suckers!
Have a good Sunday. It is sunny and heading for 20C (68F) here today.
A friend of mine got two lambs for the season.....Bert and Ernie. This is Ernie. We had lambs when my daughter was in 4-H. They are sweet creatures. I had a very hard time after each fair season.....my daughter not so much. :-). The life of being on a farm is knowing where your food comes from...and not getting too attached.
** I have not seen any Lambs yet this spring. This image is from 2020 these lambs are certainly lively
NB I saw some today on a walk but they were all very sleepy
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO
