I bought myself this little toy as a desk ornament. I call her Kuva which is the Finnish word for Picture.

I brought my little Kuva outside and I thought she'd make a great model for today's challenge! I called her Kuva because it means picture in Finnish :)

An interesting type of aircraft, namely Petljakov Pe-2, which developed into a much-used dive bomber during the war and was the most common bomber in the Soviet Union in 1943.
The Finnish Air Force had 8 of these planes with nick name "Pekka-Eemeli". One as a loot and the rest were purchased from Germany. However, the Finnish Air Force used the aircraft type only as reconnaissance aircraft and they only flew about 100 hours per plane.
In the SA image, mechanics are refueling an aircraft returned from a reconnaissance flight. Pictured plane is the 2nd squadron PE-215 of the bombing squadron 48.
Both this aircraft and the PE-301 were destroyed just a few days later when Lappeenranta Airport was bombed by the Soviet Air Force on July 2, 1944.
