The Philipsdam is part of the Delta Works. With the construction of the Philipsdam, the Krammer and Volkerak waters were immediately cut off from the Oosterschelde. The Philipsdam runs from the Grevelingendam to Sint Philipsland - after which the dam is named.

The Volkerak is a body of water in the Netherlands. It is part of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta, and is situated between the island Goeree-Overflakkee to the north-west and the Dutch mainland to the south and east. The western part of the Volkerak is also called Krammer.

Tributaries of the Volkerak are the Dintel and Steenbergse Vliet. The Volkerak is navigable by sea-going ships through the Volkerak Locks (Volkeraksluizen) from the Hollands Diep. The Scheldt–Rhine Canal connects it to the port of Antwerp.

Before 1987, it was a tidal river open to the North Sea, but it was closed off as part of the Delta Works, it is now a fresh water lake.

The Dintelse Buntings are to the Krammer Volkerak between Brabant and Goeree-Overflakkee. This marshland nature reserve is dry after the conclusion of the Philips dam. Ebb and flow disappeared, but there is new, unique nature for returned. elfs on busy days you imagine yourself in this vast, empty landscape alone in the world. Walking through the area and discover the Dintelse Gorzen. The Dintelse Buntings and the adjacent swallowing Back have any relief. It features former high marshes, creeks, gullies and lower swallow and rough vegetation. In the distance there is a view of the Krammer Volkerak. To keep the area open, let Nature monuments here Shetland ponies and Highland cattle graze. You can bump into. They look like to cuddle, but it remain wild beasts. Love these Highlands but sufficiënt distance.

and the view was always so beautiful there

this is just the beginning, there will be 34 mills to come :-(

As part of the Philipsdam the Krammer Locks [1976-1987] are one of the 13 Delta Works in the Netherlands. They seperate the freshwater of the Volkerak from the salty Oosterschelde.

Wind farm Krammer is a new wind farm in Zeeland. The park consists of 34 turbines with a total capacity of 102 MW. It is the largest private wind farm and therefore the largest civilian initiative in the Netherlands. Construction started in 2016 and was completed in 2019. The park was officially opened by King Willem-Alexander on May 15, 2019.

Typical inside-the-dike landscape of South-Holland Isles like Goeree Overflakkee. Even the grazing sheep seem to abide to the sense of order predominating this landscape.
