"Remains To Be Seen" by Simon Kossoff. It's out of print, but looks like a revised version will be coming out. As DJ Shadow might say it's about life, death, love... Something that happened across the sea, reinterpreted in American hieroglyphics.

Chicago, IL 2010

This past Saturday my friend David and I drove to Chicago to see the Eggleston show at the Art Institute, a 9+ hour trip there and back in one day, but it was well worth it. Seeing the dye transfer prints in the flesh was revelatory. I had only seen maybe 15% of them live before. The reproductions in books don't do them justice. I also had a chance to meet up with Jim Hart and Simon Kossoff, two good photographers that I've met through Flickr. It was nice to meet you guys in person and I wish we would have had more time to converse.

On the way into the city it was raining like crazy, and when we got out of the show it became bright and sunny. We were able to photograph for a few hours before we had to take off back to the Detroit area. Here are three from a great day in Chicago.

Aubade Magazine Issue 3 is a kalaidoscope of work-a-day artistic topography - writing by cult US writer James Brown, photography by David Solomons, Dave Mason, Andy Brown, Simon Kossoff, Don Hudson and Robert Saucier amongst luminous others, art by Mayako Nakamura, poetry by Didi S Gilson...Oh, and some unidentified objects sketched by a fearful public and sent to the ministry of defence.

You can buy a print copy or download a free PDF from www.magcloud.com/browse/Issue/187338

Issue 5 is a veritable charcuterie of images and words, including the photography of Maciej Dakowicz, David Solomons, Martin Hanna, Don Hudson, Simon Kossoff and Damien Caffarey amongst excellent others, the paintings of Bryce Hudson, the creations of Alain Vaissiere, and a study of moon boots as modelled by an English Shirehorse.

Issue 7 features photography by Simon Kossoff, Jules Dernier, Pavel Muller, Jan Cieslikiewicz, Robert Saucier and many luminous others - we celebrate xmas in orbit, tip our hats to a couple of great bands, and extol the various virtues of jogging - please enjoy!

I'm intrigued by peoples expressions as the doors open and they get on or off the tube. They become other worldly.

This isn't a great picture, it's been a lean week. Thought I'd submit anyway....

This was taken from the comparative safety of a swaying cable car, looking at the Human animals making the animal animals carry them up the winding path to Santorini.

This was one of the pieces I created for my A-level Art module. ...back in the day :)

The original behind this was a photo that I took of the Jumeirah Masjid in Dubai, and my inspiration behind this style was of Leon Kossoff - a very famous London born artist.

1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar owned by Paul Kossoff of the band Free. It is thought that Eric Clapton had this guitar for a bit as it came from his former manager.
