Dusk and the moon at Tazawa-ko (Lake Tazawa) in Akita Prefecture, Japan.
Tazawa-ko is the deepest lake in Japan, and the 17th deepest in the world, at 423.4 meters. Its surface elevation is 249 meters. It has no natural inflow or outflow. It is part of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park.

Where could it still be possible to shoot a trio of IC Death Stars in 2020? With the arrival of two SD70M-2s and another pair en-route to the BLE, the answer may soon be nowhere. Perhaps not a surprise to many, as it was astounding such lashups are still possible 22 years after CN acquired control of the IC in 1998. For now, the trio can still be seen rather reliably every morning departing Greenville around 0600 heading to Conneaut and back south to Kremis, where a second crew takes the ore to North Bessemer and empties back to Greenville for the night. The train is here seen at KO junction on its southbound trip shortly before the crew change at Heckman road.

NYAR RS70 rolls through the KO block signals in Ronkonkoma, New York heading east towards Yaphank behind a matching pair of ex-LIRR GP38-2s, two of 28 examples built for the Long Island between 1976 and 1977. In the 80s and 90s, these Geeps could be regularly seen pulling Pullman-Standard P72 coaches across the island, and they were also regular power on the famous Cannonball between New York (Hunterspoint) and Montauk. The GP38-2s were replaced by the DM30ACs and DE30ACs by the end of 1999 and a majority of them were sold to various leasing companies. Four of them were sold to NYAR and now earn their keep in freight service on Long Island.

Lake Kinrin-ko located in Yufuin is named from the "shining scales of fish in the setting sun". Hot water and cold pure spring gushes from the bottom of the lake, and fog rises from its surface on a cold day. The Kuju Plateau situated in the grassland at an altitude of 1,000 m in southern parts of the skirts of Mt. Kuju and Mt.Taisen provide a sight to see in every season - the burning of the field in spring, summer camps, red and yellow leaves of trees in autumn and a sea of clouds in winter.
