Castillo de Colomares in Benalmádena - Spain.
Built in six years, finished in 1994 by Dr Esteban Martin and two workers. Tribute to Columbus.
Maybe it would have been sophisticated high art, if designed by Gaudi.....
I took a break from the preparations for the move which takes place end of next week. Stockholm showed it's best face, the morning in golden light and thin mist then a more modest and subtle greyish moment around 10-12 and finally a sunny and colorful finale, before I went back to Strängnäs. This is just before 10.

I have photographed these strange figurines before. "Kitsch" they may be, but there is a biographical dimension, too. Anyway, the point here is the lens. The Leitz Elmar 4/135 (ignore exif data) goes back to the early 1960s. Focussing was difficult on a rangefinder camera (here Leica M 246 Monochrome). Using the tiny Olympus electronic viewfinder, the lens can shine again and focussing is easy (here: wide-open).

Funky clock that reminded me of the life growing up in the '60s. We had a similar clock that hung on our kitchen wall. Kitsch ruled then.

The original photo was of a tacky statue that graced a hall on the cruise ship we traveled on to explore parts of Alaska. Personally, I feel that my Photoleap editing greatly improved its appearance.
Tough not to fall into kitsch while rendering a sunset's striking colors. Let's hope I didn't fail to hard with this picture taken a few days ago from the the stircage on my building's top floor. I whish I could have one of the appartmens there :)
