It is now less than a week until the Coronation of King Charles III, and people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth move into the new Carolean Age.
Imagine my delight when I recently received my first Carolean Era stamp on a letter from a friend in Worcestershire, featuring His Majesty's profile. Not only was it interesting to see His Majesty in profile on a stamp, but also to note that this stamp makes a break in royal tradition, where the rule is that he should be facing in the opposite direction to his mother.
Whether Her Late Majesty liked rule breakers or not, I am sure she would be very proud of King Charles as he takes up the reigns of ruling and walks in his mother's footsteps, but decidedly to the beat of his own drum.
Taking his seat at the head of The Breakfast Club... King Charles The Chaffinch. He certainly thinks he owns the place with all the noise he makes as he approaches.

Cynophobia is the fear of dogs,

Well over 40 years ago when I was possibly still a teenager, I armed myself with a full brand new tin of 72 Derwent colouring pencils, a new sharpener, and a sketchbook, then found myself a small magazine photo (probably from the Woman's Weekly or similar) of the then Prince Charles and tried my best to copy and enlarge the photo. It was given as a gift to my parents back then, but recently I found it hanging in my sister's house and I took the chance to take a quick photo of it. It seemed an appropriate time to post this after having watched all the wonderful colour and ceremony of the coronation!
Although King Charles was born on the 14th of November, the Sovereign's birthday is officially celebrated by the ceremony of Trooping the Colour (King's Birthday Parade). This will take place on Saturday 17th June by Regiments of the Household Division, on Horse Guards Parade, with His Majesty The King attending and taking the salute.
In Australia there is a public holiday celebrated on different days depending upon the state. In Victoria, it is Monday 9th of June this year. I think it is an occasion worth nothing and celebrating. So from me to you, happy King's Birthday Holiday!
I thought I would celebrate the day with a photo of my new limited edition His Majesty King Charles III Teddy Bear from Merrythought Bears in England.
Expertly hand-crafted at their historical Ironbridge factory in Shropshire, His Majesty King Charles III Teddy Bear has been carefully brought to life by Merrythought's highly skilled team using the finest silver-coloured mohair plush and soft cotton velvet. His left paw has been embroidered in gold thread to reflect His Majesty’s official Royal Cypher, whilst his wise and regal persona is subtly captured by his deep blue eyes and hand-stitched smile.
His Majesty King Charles III Teddy Bear wears the Royal Victorian Order Sash, recognising King Charles’ position as Sovereign of the Order. Made from official Royal Victorian Order ribbon, the sash is adorned with Italian gold tassels and a detailed enamel and gold-plated replica Order of the Garter star, which is attached with a gold-capped stud.
The Order of the Garter Star reflects the most noble and oldest British Order of Chivalry. It has been worn by His Majesty during important royal ceremonies, including his coronation in 2023.
His Majesty King Charles III Teddy Bear is individually numbered as part of a limited edition world release of 1948 pieces and he has a Certificate of Authenticity. He is number 10.
I was moving the dust around with a Swiffer Duster and Sherlock (left) and Watson (right) were getting bored watching me. Poor guys!! I made up for it by taking them for a walk around the property after lunch.

The passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of His Majesty King Charles III has been marked by ceremonies throughout the United Kingdom and will be marked by further ceremonies in the coming days. This is a rehearsal in Edinburgh for the ceremonies there in the next few days.

Sun was fighting a losing battle with the clouds, so it was bright rather than sunny when the shed passed through, but it still stands out nicely amongst the lush greenery of the Hope Valley.
Wikipedia: Mickelgate Bar (gate to the City) was built in the 12th century, and the top stories in the 14th. A restoration of the Bar was completed in late 2017.
It is known as the Royal entrance to the City and at least seven reigning monarchs have passed through this gate including King Charles. A protester, a student from York university, was held on suspicion of a public order offence when he threw eggs at him. This photograph was taken on November 7th the day before King Charles’ visit.

Having tried his hand at hauling stone and transporting sleepers on his first day since his coronation, King Chaz (aka DB Cargo's 66023) is seen spending the longest day of 2023 seeing how ordinary folk who work in refuse collection go about their jobs, as he takes the rubbish from the people of Merseyside over to be processed in North Yorkshire on 6E16, Knowsley to Wilton.
A small but discerning gallery for this, with only one member of it needing to be edited out...
I would like to meet the person who validated this fact...!

The event promises to be glorious. Today the golden State Coach was put through its paces down The Mall, and pieces of royal regalia and details about the Coronation are being released to the public in the lead up to the event.
However, what will make the Coronation more glorious than any golden coach, robe or crown can, will be all the happy cheering people from across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the world, as we herald the crowning of His Majesty King Charles III.
Today, the 6th of May, 2023, is a momentous day. Today is the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III, and people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth move into the new Carolean Age.

It should have been received from the late Queen on 5th September but an error at Department of Work and Pensions meant they had her birthday as 1923 instead of 1922. Anyway she's got it now. Further delay due to the change over of Admin staff after the Queen died.
Today, the 6th of May, 2023, is a momentous day. Today is the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III, and people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth move into the new Carolean Age.
Celebrations will be happening in Britain and around the world to mark the occasion.
How apt it is that yesterday, I should receive my special limited edition King Charles III Commemorative Teddy Bear from Merrythought in Britain. So it is with the deepest pride and pleasure that I present him to you.
Beautifully crafted in Merrythought’s historic British factory, His Majesty is a true heirloom and features golden mohair plush paired with pure cotton velvet paws, one of which is embroidered with The King’s official cypher and the occasion date. His noble persona is enhanced by deep blue eyes and a neatly hand-stitched nose and smile. He looks very much like his Royal human counterpart. ‘FAVES’ PROBLEMS?!? Does anyone else have a problem with ‘Faves’ not staying latched in? I regularly spot some when I look back again at an image and have to re-Fave again! Most annoying - apologies if you see a comment & no fave given from me.
