so sah gutes Wetter in unserem Schottland Urlaub aus :-) Aber deswegen fahren wir ja nächstes Jahr auch noch mal... weil das Wetter so gut war ;-)
Kilt Rock, Isle Of Skye, Scotland
On the Trotternish Peninsula in the north of Skye lies the spectacular Kilt Rock (Creag an Fheilidh in Gaelic), a 90-metre-high wall of multi-coloured hexagonal columns of basalt rock and dolerite sills resembling the pleats of a tartan kilt. It is one of the most spectacular views on Skye and the site gets very busy in the summer months. In the foreground is the spectacular Mealt Falls. Fed by the fresh waters of Loch Mealt near Ellishadder, the falls plunge onto rocky coastline and the Sound of Raasay over 60 metres below.
Rouen (France) - A Scottish, I presume because I did not speak to him. I came across it on the quays of Rouen (Seine-Maritime), during the Armada 2023 which brought together around thirty of the largest sailing ships for 10 days. The kilted man seemed to admire the armored steel hull of a French army naval vessel where only French nationals were accepted on board. National security obliges. The French soldiers are all the same a little naive where they have a little short memory; history is full of spies who betrayed their country.
On our first full day on Skye we booked a tour to see some highlights. Kilt Rock and the Mealt Falls were our first stop and even though the weather on that day was often quite difficult with lots of rain and mist, for this photo I think the clouds were actually better than a clear sky. So I'm quite satisfied how this photo turned out, despite taking it among lots of other tourists.
Mealt waterfalls at Kilt rock on the Isle of Skye. Shot with drone, ND filter during a short interval in the rain and strong winds.

Taken from the adjacent car park, where I was pushed out of the way by an impatient person. Sorry, lady, I was in this spot for only 10 seconds. :-)
The famous Kilt Rock is a sea cliff in north east Trotternish. It is said to resemble a kilt, with vertical basalt columns to form the pleats and intruded sills of dolerite forming the pattern.

Also known as Meallt Falls, this dramatic waterfalls drops vertically down to the rocks and sea far below. It's a shame the viewing platform doesn't stick out just a few further to get a better view of the falls, but it's quite dramatic nonetheless.
Kilt Rock is a 100 M sea cliff in NE Trotternish Peninsula that gets its name for the basalt columns with interspersed dolerite (igneous rock) intrusions that resemble the pleats and patterns of a kilt. Mealt falls plummet over the cliff to the ocean below. Elishader, Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Mummy made us kilts because we are in Scotland and lots of people here wear them. They are made in tartan and this one is a Stooart I think but I like it because it is red.
Mummy said that we could wear them with our fancy shirts from our pirate outfits because they are smart white shirts and that is dressy kilt outfit.
I think they look smart.
...... very early, on an October morning, the sun was hitting the cliffs from low in the sky. The colours were startling.
The Macro Mondays theme for 11/27 is Nation and this is a strong possibility. This is one of three kilt pins that belonged to my mom and she wore them on an authentic Scottish kilt with a Grant tartan. This would have been the second choice if we still could post two.
…..Btb, I actually chose the little ceramic windmill for my posting! It’s close by in the photostream!
