So cute, these two. These two are my friends from Tulsa, who were visiting the San Diego on vacation, and C & I met up with them in North County for some fun times. Lunch, coffee, impromptu engagement session 5 years late (they've been married 5 years this May), and photo-geeking on the beach at sunset. Had SUCH a great day!

I met up with my friends Ryan and Brandi and Matt while I was in Tulsa. We had lunch and then snapped a few pictures while chatting in the parking lot. The midday sun was killer!

mandyatlarge: @killerotter Arkansas is nuts about the Razorbacks and I hear games in Little Rock get crazy cuz it's so small and 90% AR fans. I'm excited. I was home schooled so I've never been to ANY football games. Haha, should be fun.

Brandi is my flickr friend but we also went to high school together. Matt is her husband, and a terrific photographer who didn't bring his camera.
They are looking beautiful here, of course, despite the melting heat. It's not Brandi's "pregnancy glow" either--it's just them!
Matt was making a crack about how he'd get closer to Brandi because he knew I could focus better that way. ha!
For disclosure sake I did not come up with this idea on my own. I saw this photo and decided to try it out. I did not plan to copy it exactly but I do really like the shot. Both his and mine.

Ever been in a Bass Pro shop? I think it's official they are turning the iconic Memphis Pyramid into a Bass Pro.. makes me sad. I loved going to all the incredible history exhibits there as a kid, but I'll admit, for events, this place has sucked for a while. mandyatlarge: @ilikpoop this pic was from when I was in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. I am originally from West Memphis, which is just across the bridge (in Arkansas) from Memphis. So I'm in Arkansas, but go to Memphis a lot. I think Knoxville is on the opposite side of the state.
killerotter: There's one about 2 miles from my house. I've been there a couple times to buy presents for people, but I wasn't that impressed.
mandyatlarge: @killerotter yah, I got drug in there while on a business trip. It was a pretty big one so I was like a little kid, glued to the giant fish tank most of the time. But, alas, it's just a retail store... I just really wish Memphis would have put more effort into it's plans with the Pyramid, it's such an icon.
killerotter: @mandyatlarge The pyramid is really beautiful. I didn't even even know of its existence until a few months ago, when I spent half day in Memphis.
mandyatlarge: @killerotter I love Memphis and have grown up seeing the Pyramid included in the only cityscape I knew as a child. What a different feeling it will be knowing it's a Bass Pro shop... Just makes me sick.

I swear, the moment I took the camera out and pointed it in his direction, Matt was all over that! It was so funny. :) I don't think he took pictures that night though because he was busy holding his baby and playing host to his friends.

mandyatlarge: @alishayarbrough I think @nessasaur has a point about it being 'Alice-y'... That isn't what I was going for, so making it 'not blue' might be a good way to counter that, since it obviously does.. Hmm. Great suggestions though! Still thinking.
thisreallycoolguy: My equally talented artistic sister (and I) suggest leaving it white or maybe going for a vibrant purple? As to avoid clichè..
mandyatlarge: @izzys_4 I agree that the white makes it stand out, and I do like it white. But white is usually associated with purity/good and again, not what I am going for... @thisreallycoolguy I like the purple idea, I had kind of consider it since it is used in the wine bottles.

:/ so I came home from work and the neighbor had a huge extension cord plugged into OUR house! Right above my peonies; who knew there was a plug there?! I left Ben to take care of it and went to yoga. He got a lock for the plug and installed it to keep it from happening. Well, of course, they broke my peonies and pulled them up. I just planted them in the dark... Only hope they survive. This is the 3rd year in a row someone has ruined my flowers... -- { #flower #broken #mean }
