after happily spending the morning (and an hour-and-a-half of the afternoon) in bed listening to the rain, i had no choice but to face the fact that i'm all but paralyzed when my devices aren't in working order. (unfortunately, every device i own that implements anything deemed remotely "technological"--phones, cameras, socks--seem to go haywire at (at least) one point during their tenure, despite the fact that i baby them all.
that being said, my iphone, despite all the loving attention with which i smother it, decided to take a break from functionality last night, so after nabbing the earliest possible appointment at the grove's apple store at 4:45 (really?! ain't it great to have to make a reservation to have your phone looked at?) and killing a couple hours over french toast in the farmers market, we showed up a few minutes early and waited around for my appointment.
nonetheless, this is why i'm crazy about this girl. anyone who checks their grown-upness at the door and poses in public with random grade-schoolers gets a gold star in my book.

Traveled to San Francisco/Bay Area over the weekend for a friend's wedding, I dragged my friends on Sunday to Chinatown to grab some food after our car rental went kaput! I don't think T was fond of Hong Kong style dim sum, but the rest of us enjoyed the meal.
Shiny, colorful toddler clothes on display in local merchant stores. This photo was taken while we are in search of a good Chinese restaurant.

We eventually got a new car rental after much badgering. I don't think T was fond of Hong Kong style dim sum, but the rest of us enjoyed the meal.

Got some advice from Shopping in Birmingham on Twitter where to find the last two. And had a window between 9am and 9:30am to find them! (Wasn't too busy that time of the day).

Today,
I was reading NIkki SIxx's recollection of his days on heroin back in the late 80's. I was doing so in the kids section of barnes and noble, the whole time praying no kid happened to look over my shoulder and read Its disturbing and vile contents.

Our visit to the local library is waaaaaaay overdue. Especially since I am a librarian. Not practicing. But once you are a librarian, I think you are always a librarian. So we trekked to the library and they gave everyone a card, including R. I thought R. might like the library because the older two get to go to the library at school. I was wrong. All three were overwhelmed by too many books I think. I know I was.

Our famous Twilight display (with movie poster and Team Edward t-shirt!), our new Brisingr display (with flying dragons!), and in the distance you can see a bit of our new graphic novel section and Watchmen display.
(and yes, there's an empty book stand on there...a customer had grabbed that copy of Twilight to purchase. I think it's an indicative photo of how our sales of Twilight have been going!)
