Named after a song by Paul Revere and the Raiders, she reminds me of a cross between Cher in the mid-60s and Marlo Thomas during "That Girl!"

Every time I went home to see my family, my son, we've always went to shoe store,(Nike most of the time) and I will not stop until I got him a new pair of kicks, and he really loves it.
I'll be back to the summer chronology soon but figured I'd put up an oldie just for kicks. In the good old days I would run the numbers of all CNW's road power through the UP car trace and see if there was anything nearby. I suspect this was one of those times. A westbound manifest grinds up Knapp Hill on the Adams line behind a CNW and an SP SD. It was a good time for variety on the UP. May 9, 1998.
Boarded up...but the pink kicks seem new.

Along the historic stretch of Route 66 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, this abandoned Magnolia gas station stands as a quiet reminder of America’s golden age of road travel. The weathered structure, adorned with bold “Get Your Kicks” lettering and the iconic Route 66 shield, reflects decades of stories carried through this desert highway.
Once a stop for travelers chasing the horizon, it now rests beneath wide Southwestern skies—its faded paint and cracked pavement adding character rather than loss. Scenes like this preserve the spirit of the Mother Road, where nostalgia, resilience, and history meet in stillness.
