Sinterklaas bracht mij deze prachtig beren-piek voor de kerstboom, blij dat ik hem nu kan gebruiken.

Saint Nicholas brought me this beautiful bear peak for the Christmas tree, glad I can use it now.

Agapanthus is een geslacht van kruidachtige vaste planten die voornamelijk in de zomer bloeien. Dit leidt tot de Australische naam 'Ster van Bethlehem', omdat de plant vlak voor Kerstmis bloeit. De bladeren zijn basaal, gebogen en lijnvormig en worden tot 60 cm lang. Ze zijn vrij leerachtig en staan in twee tegenover elkaar gelegen rijen. De plant heeft een grotendeels ondergrondse stengel, een zogenaamde wortelstok (zoals een gemberwortel), die als opslagorgaan dient. De wortels, die uit de wortelstok groeien, zijn wit, dik en vlezig.

De bloeiwijze is een schijnscherm, omgeven door twee grote, bladverliezende schutbladeren aan de top van een lange, rechtopstaande bloemstengel, tot 2 m hoog. Ze hebben trechtervormige of buisvormige bloemen,[8] in tinten van blauw tot paars, overlopend naar wit. Sommige hybriden en cultivars hebben kleuren die niet in wilde planten voorkomen, zoals tweekleurige blauw/lavendelkleurige en witte bloemen met een roze gloed naarmate de bloemen rijpen. Het vruchtbeginsel is superieur. De stijl is hol. Agapanthus mist de kenmerkende chemische samenstelling van Allioideae. [bronvermelding gewenst]

Agapanthus is a genus of herbaceous perennials that mostly bloom in summer. This leads to the Australian common name, Star of Bethlehem, as it blooms just before Christmas. The leaves are basal, curved, and linear, growing up to 60 cm (24 in) long. They are rather leathery and arranged in two opposite rows. The plant has a mostly underground stem called a rhizome (like a ginger 'root') that is used as a storage organ. The roots, which grow out of the rhizome, are white, thick and fleshy.

The inflorescence is a pseudo-umbel subtended by two large deciduous bracts at the apex of a long, erect scape, up to 2 m (6.6 ft) tall. They have funnel-shaped or tubular flowers,[8] in hues of blue to purple, shading to white. Some hybrids and cultivars have colors not found in wild plants which includes bi-colored blue/lavender and white flowers flushed with pink as the blooms mature. The ovary is superior. The style is hollow. Agapanthus does not have the distinctive chemistry of Allioideae.[citation needed]

R-NET GTW komt aan in Arkel op de met Kerst versierde stationsgebouw.

De kerst hoeft niet altijd wit te zijn om toch de juiste sfeer te treffen :ook regen en massa's paraplu's kunnen op de Dam dat gevoel oproepen.

Helemaal als er ook twee EMA museumstellen klaarstaan voor een rit door de stad. Hier zien we de 464+776, met daarachter de 465+946.

4 negatieve coronatesten voor de Kerstbrunch

Als 'After-White-Christmas' kon vandaag toch de Sky Radio Kersttram te Rotterdam in de sneeuw gefotografeerd worden. Het voertuig is versierd met 12.000 ledlampjes, een speciale bestickering, bijpassende kerstmuts en in de tram zijn bekende kersthits te horen. Terwijl links in beeld een auto met sneeuwpech staat, passeert Citadis-tram 2115 probleemloos over de winterse Noordsingel.

At Rotterdam the Citadis 2115 has been converted into the Sky Radio Santa Claus tram with 12.000 led lights, a red hat and corresponding music for the passengers. The first snow during 2 years - sadly just after Christmas - provides the right winter-atmosphere for this tramcar at Noordsingel, Rotterdam.
