There's something amusing about seeing KAWS - irreverently occupying a particular artistic niche - in the city of Klimt and Kokoschka. A city that is quite serious about its art and music, and where even the buildings seem to take themselves a little too seriously. But then, underneath the refined veneer, it's an inherently irreverent city with a stellar capacity for self-mockery, and it shows.
I'm a fan of irreverence.
A monumental sculpture by the artist KAWS on Park Avenue. The sculpture is joined by a man eating his lunch - an entire empty plaza and he chose to sit on the sculpture's pedestal.
Sculpture by KAWS AKA Brian Donnelly on show at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. P.S. My title is not the name of the artwork.
