Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) is a town in Baramulla district in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India.Gulmarg lies in a cup-shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Western Himalayas, at an altitude of 8694 feet, some 56 kms from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir.It is a famous tourist and skiing destination.
I was off for a short trip to the Vale of Kashmir and I have missed a lot of your uploads.Hope to make up in the next few days.:-)

About 1000 visitiors out of 10000 a day are shutted by Helicopter from Baltal base camp to Amarnath caves.
Very narrow route through several mountains a precariously close landing in a Helipad situate near the shrine where 10s of 1000s of people throng every day. This Amarnath cave is situate at an altitude of 14000 feet.

These Kashmir Goats have come to occupy the slopes of the Great Orme.
Adopted by the Welsh Guards (Fusiliers) as a serving soldier (not a mascot).
My dad was in this regiment during WW II.

Ducks wade through the water of Dal Lake on the evening in Srinagar, summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir. Kashmir is home to atleast 100 lakes, most of which are situated at high altitude. Off late the existence of these lakes is being threatened due to the rising pollution level and global warming.

Kashmir Great Lakes is one of the most beautiful treks in India. No question. It validates Kashmir’s mythical status as heaven on earth.

I've been hearing this song a lot lately because reasons, and felt the urge to try to capture the... hrm. The way that the song makes me imagine a hazy, late-afternoon golden-hour sort of lighting. Since Kashmir is part of Pakistan and India (contested between the two nations and partitioned in that uniquely British late-Empire sort of way they did to people who weren't British), it struck me that hey- Zaara's beautiful main shop would be a good setting to play with light settings.
I did a fair bit of photoshop work on this one, though the real work was done with windlights and haze horizon/density settings.
The jacket's from Toksik and is named "Tussle' (and is available for a few male and female body types!); the hair's from Argrace and is named 'Shirogane'.
Foreign tourists mesmerised by the beauty of the Nigeen Lake, in Srinagar, Kashmir India Such is the beauty of the lake they decided to move the Shikara themselves to go into the interiors of the Lake.The Nigeen lake is second most beautiful lake after world famous Dal lake in Srinagar, kashmir, india. Surrounded by snow clad mountains, the Nigeen lake attracts scores of foreign tourits, across the world.

What I presume to be Codonopsis ovata (poss clematidea) (Bonnet bellflower, Kashmir bellflower, Asian bellflower), at dusk in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.
It was the delicately patterned interiors which got my interest, once I got down to peer up inside one. Not really something that lends itself to photographing as I don't think I can incluse that detail in a generally pleasing composition. I was nonetheless on a lookout for a composition that at least incorporated the much more unassuming exterior, so one evening at sunset I got this.
