On our last evening before leaving Japan a Swiss friend living in Tokyo and I went out for some drinks. We had Japanese lager beer and snacks. Next to us was a party of 4 people. I started the conversation with a simple "Kanpai" (cheers). The lady agreed to have some photos taken with the Dream Lens, I already sent them to her.
I processed a soft, a realistic, and a photographic HDR photo from a JPG exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Whilst me and Kanpai Girl were down in the boiler room taking these shots my exploration buddy rang me from another part of the building saying…
“SAM GET OUT NOW, THERE’S SMACK HEADS BANGING ON THE METAL DOORS”
This immediately shit us both up a little. We both started packing up our equipment and my mate rang me again saying the smack heads had walked off – thank god!
So we cracked on with taking the shots!
Happy New Year and out hearty best wishes to you all!!! Guess this is something of a new year's baby shot though he is now a month and a half old.
In my mind this pose by Junior really said something about today. He is holding his hand to his head in a "why was 2008 so bad!" manner. Yet if you look closely you will see he is peeking out through those tiny slits in his eyes as if to determine if the on-rushing 2009 will feel as dire.
You might want to view large on black to see the tiniest of peeks through those eye lids.

Figured I better post now. Not sure what condition I will be in tomorrow! Of course the flip side is by now pretty much all of you are either a) total sloshed and or unconscious or b) in the process of achieving the state of a). We'll be holding a private celebration at home.

The prayer room Haiden and the main hall Honden are to be found just behind, protected by a Sukibei wall. Constructed in the Ishi-no-ma-zukuri architectural style, these gilded buildings are a sight to behold, as much for the subtleness of the ornaments as for their profusion.
Inside, the ceiling is taken over by 140 pictures of dragons, and the walls are painted with Karashishi lions. These pantings are the artworks of 2 talented artists of the Edo period: Kano Tanyu (1602 - 1674) and his brother Kano Yasunobu (1613 - 1685). The armor worn by Iemitsu is also displayed.

The Karamon gate is quickly reached after Yashamon gate. Its architecture is of Chinese inspiration and its size smaller compared to the 3 first portals. No guardians here, as the dangers are now past and belong to the "world below". The carvings represent one dragon and two cranes on the round gable of the gate, called karahafu.

For Macro Mondays theme "Ceramic", a Japanese sake flask & cups, known as tokkuri and ochoko. To say 'cheers!' say 'kanpai!', which means 'empty cup'. HMM!
My Japanese friend Naoyo made me rice and tempura today, but the star was this bottle of sake. It was sooooo smooth and fantastic flavour.
No words only this Bwha ha ha ha ha

Agapanthusa edo Niloko lilioa Hego Afrikako jatorrizko landare perennea da, lila-urdin koloreko lore multzoak sortzen dituena.
