HB-ZTW, Kaman K-MAX K-1200 (CN A94-0041) owned by Rotex Helicopter AG departs on the journey back Balzers, Liechtenstein from a remote staging site in the Scottish Highlands, upon the successful completion of a heavy lift job in the area on behalf of PDG Helicopters. The unusual synchropter was developed in the late eighties as a specialist heavy lift machine. Delivered in 2017, this is one of three owned by Rotex.

Kaman (Bow), Iran, late 18th century. Wood, horn, and sinew; painted and lacquered: Not only a tool for hunting, the figurative depictions on this bow emphasize the importance of riding on horseback and the kingly tradition of the hunt. Its decoration shows the stylistic repertoire of the transitional phase of Iranian art between the Zand and Qajar periods. The facial features of the figures in the depictions on the bow can be seen in the context of Mirza Baba (active 1789 – 1810), one of the most skilled artists of the Qajar period.

HB-ZTW, Kaman K-MAX K-1200 (CN A94-0041) owned by Rotex Helicopter AG. Following the successful completion of a lift job in the Scottish Highlands, the crew pack up their equipment for the return journey to home to Balzers, Liechtenstein. The KMAX can operate largely autonomously, with a cargo bay located in the aircraft body accommodating lift equipment and spares when travelling. A member of the PDG ground team gets a close up look at this unusual but incredibly effective design.

Saw this fly over us out near the First water trailhead. Had to look it up to see that it was a Kaman K-1200 K-Max.

Wicipedia says it can lift 6000 pound payload. It was pretty interesting to see fly over.

The former building of insurance company Centraal Beheer, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands.

Original design (1972): Herman Hertzberger.

This section was added later: the so-called "Pakhoed-building" (design (1990): Kaman en Davidse).

From 2007 onwards, the complex slowly fell into disrepair, in spite of several rescue attempts, including one from the architect Hertzberger himself.

Now, the building sits behind fences and barbed wire, surrounded by signs saying "I am being protected", awaiting its final verdict...

A great morning at Potter Point. Started on the cliff top and went down to the rock shelf where these 11 fishermen were trying their luck. Low tide with a bit of swell. Very tricky for them to get to this spot with water surging around it. Unfortunately, rock fishing is the most dangerous "sport" in Australia. It now mandatory for all rock fishermen to wear life jackets but there are still some that don't. Most weren't wearing rock boots either... just sandshoe/runners. Would just take one rogue wave :-(

10 people died in the Sutherland Shire region in the past few years. 13 people on average die a year rock fishing nationally. 5 fishermen already this year.

8 people died in Australia from shark attacks last year and only 12 globally died from shark attacks!
