The frozen Yachenskoye Reservoir in Kaluga.
The Yachenskoye Reservoir was formed in 1980 in a Kaluga suburb, near the confluence of the Yachenka and Oka rivers. This 230,000 square meter body of water serves as a discharge point for wastewater from the city's more than a dozen sewer systems. Despite this, it is home to fish: carp, crucian carp, ide, pike, zander, bream, and others. However, fishing is prohibited here due to poisoning.
This area is nicknamed "God's Thunder" by locals—according to them, accidents here are common, with various explanations for the causes, including electric shocks, UFOs, and other causes.
