Just mucking around with some smaller Pacific Rim ideas. Gypsy Danger didn't bring out the sword in this on screen encounter with Knifehead but these arms look cooler I reckon.

I observed this metallic sweat bee (Agapostemon sp.) and flower longhorn beetle (Typocerus sp.) grappling for space on a thistle bloom. With a little imagination I could see them as two giants battling among the skyscrapers of a bustling metropolis.
Today I'm starting a series of sets highlighting different taxonomic groups. I'll be posting current (past 2 years) images and dipping into the archive to highlight some of the diversity of each group. First group up: bees!

My submission for this round of the biocup 2020 Parasite! These giant parasitic mites just love the blood of kaiju. With sharp mandibles the can latch on to just about any surface with ease. This is inspired by the Skinmites from Pacific Rim! Originally wanted to make it but realized i did not have the right parts and colors in CCBS. Nevertheless still it was a fun build! #biocup2020
