Parked in its owner's yard in Macmerry, this three decades old Volvo FL10 operated by T & J Wallace was photographed. The company has owned the FL for a long time but only returned it to active service in November 2021 after almost six years of sitting idle in the yard, after which it enjoyed another three years of recovery work before being marked as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification). It seems a Mercedes Actros MP2 has swooped in and taken over the elderly Volvo's duties.

After uncoupling from the train on the siding the engines move to rear rear of K997 on the main track in order to shove the cars into the rock plant.
In the Before Times, CTA NovaBus 8223, running an X49-Western Express trip on run 6409, approaches 16th & Western northbound, while a New Flyer on a driver instruction trip, operating as run K997, follows closely behind. Behind the buses is BNSF's Chicago Sub "racetrack" and Metra's Western Avenue station.

Not my photo, just a screenshot off Facebook. Having uploaded the lovely red W124 coupe yesterday I noticed this on the Landbeasts Facebook page for sale for just under £4000. Doesn't seem badly priced considering they're quite collectable now.
