Ever have one of those pictures where you look at it and think it's rubbish, then look again and think it might not be, then spend the rest of the evening oscillating between the two opinions?
For FGR "Pet Peeves"
I have a LOT of pet peeves. Hundreds, maybe thousands. But my all time biggest ever pet peeve is ironing, and especially ironing mens shirts. Im rubbish at it anyway, and all the seams, collars, cuffs, vents, pockets and buttons.....god I could scream just thinking about it. And ironing in Malaysia is a hot job.....puke puke puke I HATE IT!!!!!!

... on the day God blasted Pittsburgh with a plague of snow death.
Today began for me when I got up at 1:00 AM to get ready for the day. I looked out the window and processed that things were bad. Then, Gentry called to say he'd be late because he had to dig out his car. Then, he called to say that his car was bottoming out from all the snow. Then, I went into my own parking lot and realized there was no way I was leaving. Then, I started calling cabs.
By sheer luck, I managed to catch a driver who was passing through, and was one of maybe five drivers in the city who was still operating. Great. He manages to get me to the airport in two hours on back roads, because all the tunnels and highways in Pittsburgh are closed. We pass countless cars stuck in snow drifts and trucks sprawled out at odd angles across the road, and one huge building that was actually on fire. I pay $100.
Before I got in the cab, I found out my flight was delayed four hours, so great, now I don't have to worry about missing it. Get to the airport to find out that nothing is even opening until 11:00 at the earliest, but even so, the airport is probably going to close, without any flights going out today at all.
So, that's where I am right now. Even if, by some miracle, my flight takes off, I'm probably going to miss the LAX-to-Sydney connection and won't be able to fly with Jenn. And that's probably not even going to happen. It's shortly after eight, so I won't know anything for four hours. More than likely I'm going to end up in the Marriott tonight, because there's no way to get to the airport anymore, save for another $100 cab ride, and I doubt I could even get a cab because hundreds of people are going to be stranded here.
Hooray, New Zealand.

Edit - 3:00 PM. Still waiting to get out of here. I hope it happens soon. I rescheduled my LA-to-Sydney flight from 8:10 PM tonight to the same time tomorrow, so I have over 24 hours to get to LA and catch it. The goal is to get out of here soon, get to LA by nightfall, and then get a hotel room and SLEEP AND SLEEP AND SLEEP. Yes, I hope to be in Los Angeles so I can freakin' sleep there.
Word now is that a flight for Charlotte might be leaving at 4, and I'm on standby for that one. IF it leaves, and IF I am able to squeeze onto it, I might be able to sleep in a hotel tonight. God, I hope so.
How pathetic and pitiful is this? NOT ONE. On the up side, each time I look, Michelle's frownsmile reminds me what's important on Flickr. And that is never to let go of my principles and allow myself to be photgraphed looking like that.
