My father obviously was trying to photograph my cousins when Aunt Lois came through the door. But that's fine with me.

Besides Lois, there's Jan, Jay, and the twins. The twins are Jeri and Jill, but please don't ask me which is which. You might notice that one of the twins is holding a candy cigarette; judging by the other pix in the set, so was the other. But hers is hidden.

Roger Dinda photo taken with his Argus C3 in Carroll, Iowa, early summer of 1960. Scanned from an Anscochrome slide processed in June, 1960.

My Dad, Christmas season in 1959. Do note the ancient television....

Scanned from a slide; Mom presumably took the picture using Dad's Argus C3.

Whenever the family would get together, Dad would line everyone up for a photograph. The slide says that this one dates from June of 1960, but it's actually probably late summer of 1959. Roger Dinda photo.

Don't know where this was taken, but Taken in my grandparents' back yard. I can name everyone in the photo except for the baby. And she's probably Janis.

Ektachrome just didn't hold its color as well as Kodakchrome....

Here's another photo from that 1960 Iowa vacation I mentioned yesterday. My memory--which, frankly, I don't trust--thinks this hill/dune/whatever overlooks the Missouri River, which is certainly within reach from Carroll, Iowa. But, as noted, I don't trust the memory, partly because Dad took no photographs which clearly show the river. In the unlikely case that someone recognizes this hill, please tell. Thanks.

These folks mix my family and our other Iowa cousins, the Kroegers. From top to bottom we have Steve Kroeger, me, my sister Debbie, Scott Kroeger, Sue Kroeger, and my brother Richard.

Here are the same folks, in a photo taken the same day..

Another Roger Dinda photo scanned from an Anscochrome slide processed in June of 1960.

My cousins, fifty-some years ago, somewhere that none of us who've survived remember behind our grandparents' place, probably in the late summer of 1959 (the slide's date is June 1960.)

Photo by my father, Roger Dinda. This is one of a set of three; I'm likely to post another in a day or so.

My grandmother; apparently on Christmas Day of 1959. This is probably a bit overexposed, but I really like what Dad did with the light.

Roger Dinda photo, scanned from an Ektachrome slide.

And boys. Evidently this one was taken by Mom.

Somehow I got all twisted up.

Playing (tiny) pool. My cousin, Paul Vickery, and our grandfather, Paul Dinda. Apparently on Christmas Day, 1959, at our grandparents' place.

Roger Dinda photograph; scanned from an Ektrachrome slide.

Dinda and Kroeger cousins, on a bridge, somewhere in Iowa, in 1960.

In my memory this bridge crosses the Missouri River, but that seems unlikely.

Just so you know, I'm setting you up for tomorrow's photograph....

It's Dick's birthday today; he'd have been 70 years old. But he passed away about a decade ago.

This photo was taken by our father, Roger Dinda, and was scanned from an Ektachrome slide dated June of 1960.
