I have only seen one of these beautiful little red faced Jumpers. Hopefully I will find more one day in the future. Photographed in Maryland.
In Southern Africa, this tiny lovable little antelope is called the Klipspringer or the rock jumper. It can be found in rocky terrain where its hoofs give it an advantage over predators. Looks at those hoofs! They look like they are standing on their tippy toes all the time. The delicate creatures have a diet of flowers, fruits, herbs and sprouts. I found this little one in the garden of the lodge where I was staying in Swaziland very early in the morning.

Always love to photograph these. The seem to have a personality. This one was patrolling the top of a sawn off tree stump at Ockham. It had attacked a much larger garden spider as I arrived but I hadn't got my camera setup at that point. I always seem to miss those moments.

This Jumping Spider was hanging out inside our house. So my youngest son caught it for me. I figured I'd take a few pictures before I released it outside. I wanted to do something a little different, so I took some pictures of it climbing up this pencil. I thought that the spider combined with the roughly shaved texture of the wood and the lead would look interesting. Photographed in Maryland.
