I saw spectacular view of the sunset/twilight colors in the distance but it wasn't possible to take a decent shot while driving a winding road until this spot ...

A snapshot which will stay in my memory.

The Way You Look Tonight

Some day, when I'm awfully low

When the world is cold

I will feel a glow just thinking of you

And the way you look tonight

Yes, you're lovely, with your smile so warm

And your cheeks so soft

There is nothing for me but to love you

And the way you look tonight

With each word your tenderness grows

Tearin' my fear apart

And that laugh..wrinkles your nose

Touches my foolish heart

Lovely ... Never, never change

Keep that breathless charm

Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you

Just the way you look tonight

And that laugh that wrinkles your nose

It touches my foolish heart

Lovely ... Don't you ever change

Keep that breathless charm

Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you

a-just the way you look tonight

"The Way You Look Tonight" is a song from the film Swing Time that was performed by Fred Astaire and composed by Jerome Kern with lyrics written by Dorothy Fields. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1936.[1][2] Fields remarked, "The first time Jerry played that melody for me I went out and started to cry. The release absolutely killed me. I couldn't stop, it was so beautiful."

A different type of photo than the usual landscapes I post. I visited Jerome, AZ yesterday for the first time and walked around town taking pictures with my phone.

Jerome, Yavapai County, Arizona.

The 4th night of Music in the Gardens sees Gerome take the stage and captivate the audience. Yes, it's a similar shot to the other one but I thought it was worth a showing. Indulge me : )

Rose window by Andrea di Cione called l'Orcagna (1354-1380) Orvieto Cathedral

The rose window is the work of Andrea di Cione, known as Orcagna (1354-1380), who also created the two side spires which are at the same height. The mosaics in the segments of the rose window are by Piero di Puccio (1388), although they have been much restored, and depict 4 doctors of the church: St. Augustine, St. Gregory the Great, St. Jerome and St. Ambrose. The 12 aedicules on the sides of the rose window (six on each side) are by Petruccio di Benedetto da Orvieto (1372-1388), while the corresponding statues placed inside and representing 12 prophets are by various late 14th and 15th century artists.

During the 1850s the genre painter Jerome Thompson specialized in picnic and harvest scenes that earned him considerable financial and critical success. Here, the mood is one of optimism and well-being,as signified by the bright sunlight, the bountiful crop of food, and the carefree, flirtatious behavior of the figures, whose activity suggests equal parts work and leisure. Many of Thompson's paintings were widely re-produced in the 1860s as chromo lithographs of Apple Gathering (another work)-produced and distributed in 1866 the year after the end of the Civil War-suggests the nostalgic appeal of Thompson's rural imagery, preceiived as embodying positive and national values. Here's another painting by Jerome Thompson I shot at the MET earlier this year
