This was meant to be a relaxing holiday, but we did venture out to see this magnificent Colosseum. Turned into a nightmare as we found the entrance could only be reached by a bumpy cobbled road. Not easy when Janina now needs a wheelchair most of the time outdoors. A slow and sometimes painfull 15 mins, but with help from others we managed to reach the entrance.
El Jem is a wonderful place to explore. Not only can you walk in the upper reaches, you can also sit in the VIP section of seats that have been restored, and then walk around the massive “playing surface”. Standing in the middle of the arena floor can be exciting and sobering for those of us with a vivid imagination. It is certain that hundreds, if not thousands, of people and animals died here in the name of entertainment. We may nowadays feel that we are more civilised, but its not a million miles away from an intense football match or indeed a bullfight.

As usual, CSX's J783 continues to sport more than acceptable power. Thanksgiving's edition featured a decent lash, consisting of an SD40M-2, GP38-2, and an ex TPW GP40X. Here they're leaving downtown Dayton behind, bound for their final destination of Cincinnati.

{TOF} JEM Earrings
Here's me all decked out as Jem in the costume that I put together for the Legwarmers concert! It was a bit of a rush job, but I'm really delighted with how well it turned out. The belt in particular took some sewing...not my strongest skill, but I'm improving!
When I got to the concert, one of my friends laughed and said, "Wow, that's really pink!" :-)
I was thinking of putting a auction up offering reroot services for 6-12' dolls with 8 available. I thought I would offer it here a day early before I put it up on ebay to see if I had any bites. I would do it for less for my Flickr friends.
Jem dolls just happen to be the ones I had with in reach but I've done plenty of 11 1/2 " reroots.

I'm amazed at how obedient she has become. I swear every time I say "Jem!" she stops and poses for about 3 seconds then goes back to what she was doing.
I remember back in the day Jem would play on the USA network in the mornings and I would be mesmerized by her. She was so cool. And I loved singing along to her songs.
This dates back to last spring. I just realized that I had never posted it, what a shame ;-)
Made for a geek convention, at the time, rumors were speading that a JEM movie was in the making, so I had no choice but to build a little something. Better late than never, here's a live show of the Holograms!!!
Watching the show, I always got the impression that Jem's secret identity had no actual reason to exist, and was just a pretext to crazy episodes and drama, and to turn Rio insane! lol
But I still like that well-behaved and uptight Jerrica can turn into a glamourous superstar and have tons of fun, doing what she would never normally do.
It totally makes her like a kind of drag queen, with 2 different personas ;)
Sindy was $18. somthing and Jem was $16.49. The seller labled her as Maxie.

a new feature at Southbank. a performance area called Flowstate.
The centrepiece of Flowstate is the art installation, Jem, created by Australian design studio ENESS. An interactive cage-style structure, Jem responds to people with sounds and light as they move around the steel skeleton.
(obviously more interesting at night when you see the lights)
The EVER expanding wall!! I had to add yet another shelf in the right hand corner of my display to make room for other toys coming in! This is what I see when I walk out of my bedroom every morning lol.
The new Hasbro Jem is a bit on the chunky side. But old age hits all of us hard. These are arriving at Walmart now for $25.
Bought this for a fiend (you know who you are). These are released by Hasbro but made by another company. I read that Hasbro is getting out of manufacturing their own toy lines, but will distribute under their label.
