This was meant to be a relaxing holiday, but we did venture out to see this magnificent Colosseum. Turned into a nightmare as we found the entrance could only be reached by a bumpy cobbled road. Not easy when Janina now needs a wheelchair most of the time outdoors. A slow and sometimes painfull 15 mins, but with help from others we managed to reach the entrance.
El Jem is a wonderful place to explore. Not only can you walk in the upper reaches, you can also sit in the VIP section of seats that have been restored, and then walk around the massive “playing surface”. Standing in the middle of the arena floor can be exciting and sobering for those of us with a vivid imagination. It is certain that hundreds, if not thousands, of people and animals died here in the name of entertainment. We may nowadays feel that we are more civilised, but its not a million miles away from an intense football match or indeed a bullfight.

As usual, CSX's J783 continues to sport more than acceptable power. Thanksgiving's edition featured a decent lash, consisting of an SD40M-2, GP38-2, and an ex TPW GP40X. Here they're leaving downtown Dayton behind, bound for their final destination of Cincinnati.

Here's me all decked out as Jem in the costume that I put together for the Legwarmers concert! It was a bit of a rush job, but I'm really delighted with how well it turned out. The belt in particular took some sewing...not my strongest skill, but I'm improving!
When I got to the concert, one of my friends laughed and said, "Wow, that's really pink!" :-)
When we approached the central Tunisian city of El Jem the Roman Colosseum stood out on the horizon from a long way off. What this meant was that nothing tall had been built close by. Sure enough when we toured the coliseum we learnt that local rules prohibited the building of any property higher than the UNESCO registered two thousand year old relic. In this view the Great Okba Mosque tower seems to look down on the colosseum but in reality our access didn't permit a climb to the highest points of the amphitheatre so I am sure the mosque would have been overlooked.
Looking tab this view it is clear that local properties have different uses to those we might expect to encounter at home. Solar panels seem to share roof space with washing lines, but strangely I cant see any roof top gardens.

I'm amazed at how obedient she has become. I swear every time I say "Jem!" she stops and poses for about 3 seconds then goes back to what she was doing.
Sindy was $18. somthing and Jem was $16.49. The seller labled her as Maxie.
Good luck selling them. I jumped when I seen them both but then after the tag F**k NO!
I remember back in the day Jem would play on the USA network in the mornings and I would be mesmerized by her. She was so cool. And I loved singing along to her songs.
This dates back to last spring. I just realized that I had never posted it, what a shame ;-)
Made for a geek convention, at the time, rumors were speading that a JEM movie was in the making, so I had no choice but to build a little something. Better late than never, here's a live show of the Holograms!!!
Watching the show, I always got the impression that Jem's secret identity had no actual reason to exist, and was just a pretext to crazy episodes and drama, and to turn Rio insane! lol
But I still like that well-behaved and uptight Jerrica can turn into a glamourous superstar and have tons of fun, doing what she would never normally do.
It totally makes her like a kind of drag queen, with 2 different personas ;)
The EVER expanding wall!! I had to add yet another shelf in the right hand corner of my display to make room for other toys coming in! This is what I see when I walk out of my bedroom every morning lol.

Whether a place of meditation at a monastery on another world, a stone-age ritual altar lost to the ages or a 1970s student hay bale project, you can decide. Regardless, it has a feature called "The Window of Truth", and that alone is what we seek ultimately, do we not? I lit this night photo with the mighty everlasting ProtoMachines LED2 on a winter evening on New Year Eve's Eve, enjoying the beautiful canyon and the clean air of the nearby Pacific Ocean. a new feature at Southbank. a performance area called Flowstate.
The centrepiece of Flowstate is the art installation, Jem, created by Australian design studio ENESS. An interactive cage-style structure, Jem responds to people with sounds and light as they move around the steel skeleton.
(obviously more interesting at night when you see the lights)
Shana is one of my favorite of the new Jem dolls.
She has a gorgeous face, and her hair is unique, super curly and of course purple!
I brushed it (it was quite some work!) and it turned back naturally into ringlets, but they're different from her original ou-of-the-box hair ;)
I am going through my dolls Collection, and doing group shots.
Starting with the JEM crew. I hope to add RIO and JEM alter ego Jerrica Benton.
This lot of dolls are 'some' of my spare Jem dolls including some Darcis and Robs too. As I was looking for dolls to choose for new custom dolls and some spares for a customer and decided to line them up for a family shot.
The new Hasbro Jem is a bit on the chunky side. But old age hits all of us hard. These are arriving at Walmart now for $25.
Bought this for a fiend (you know who you are). These are released by Hasbro but made by another company. I read that Hasbro is getting out of manufacturing their own toy lines, but will distribute under their label.
