A childhood friend, Adam, passed through Taos last week. We hung out a bit and then headed to the gorge to try to catch a colorful sunset. He posed for a few photos on the Rio GRande Gorge Bridge.
Another shot for the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue Group; this time they're gearing up for a wine raffle.
While I still have to do a series of just the wine for the group I couldn't resist this shot.
It's not often that I have 21 bottles of wine laying around the house so this morning I enlisted Scott's help to set this shot up while the sun was still coming up.

Went to a wine tasting even at UCSB, pretty good wine. They also had a vodka maker and tequila. After much drinking I took this quick shot of Tara and then we headed to Giovanni's in IV. Such a different experience from my college.
The day that I took this image it was about 90 degrees and I am guessing between 70 and 80% humidity. Not a very comfortable day for those of us in shorts and light shirts.
About once a week I see this pup with his mom, and she is always well dressed in her Jean jacket. She doesn't say much and doesn't stay long. Most of the time she pulls a wagon behind her, I think for when the pup gets tired.
I hope she had a nice walk. What do you think the story is, why the jacket when it is so hot?

It’s getting cooler now. It feels like the months are passing by faster and faster. We just celebrated my husband’s birthday, and next month I will have mine… Not to mention Halloween and Christmas are practically here. I remember that being something I would constantly hear the adults saying around me as a child, and although I thought that I understood their perspective, I didn’t truly empathize until becoming a mother myself.
After the rains the grass here just grows at an incrediable rate. At the park it gets mowed every week, so at most this is 6 days old. In addition to the grass getting long the humidity jumps up, and the temps of a August day, make it perfect for a jean jacket and a walk .

So I received my Fujifilm Instamax 11 in the mail yesterday.. And I'm literally OBSESSED with it! So when I had my "Music" subject, I had to figure out how to include my Polaroid type photos SOMEHOW! & I'm actually quite proud of myself, with the outcome! .. I had to share this with you guys!

I used my jean jacket as the background. I used Juan's homemade freestyle cassette tape out of our car (yes we still listen to CDs and cassettes! )
*For anyone young enough... So you know, the best music ORIGINALLY was released on cassettes, CDs & records.. NOT iTunes. *Just a fun fact! ..

~In the past 24 hours since I got this camera.. I've literally become OBSESSED. I have went thru so much film already.. I have so many prints.. and I love them ALL so much. I bought so many accessories and more film online, it's on it's way.. and since I couldn't wait that long.. I bought 4 more 10 packs today at Walmart.. LOL seriously.. I'm really enjoying it. A lot. And I'm going to make us some little albums and stuff.. (I ordered those too).

▫▫>>Because they're one of a kind, imperfectly perfect.. There are no do-overs.. When you snap that shutter, that is the photo you get..!! So if the subject blinked, you get a picture of them printed out automatically with their eyes closed. If the dog jumps out of your arms or the baby cries.. You capture that too. These pictures are REAL LIFE! Raw... Perfectly imperfect.
I have come to the conclusion.. that these photos hold so much more soul *in my opinion* than most photos. And that's my personal opinion. But I am absolutely in love with them. And the blown out, too bright... blurry, parts too... They make them unique and perfect to ME!
..So that's why.
I hope you all like my photo! I actually love it.
Like I said, I HAD to include these photos because of my new toy.. and obsession! Since this camera has such a huge part of my week's attention.. How couldn't I include it? & I love the way it turned out!!
I'm going back to work tomorrow morning. I 'had off' for the past two days... If you guys only knew how much I got done in the past couple of days and weeks... I'm so proud of myself . I had so much to get done, and I was kind of procrastinating with some of the things because I felt like they were going to be a lot of work.. but I finally pushed myself and just went for it. And it wasn't as hard as I thought.. But I got it all done. (And boy, does it feel REALLY GOOD!!) I really am proud of myself. I feel like I can go on with my week.. month... with a lot less stress in the back of my mind.
