Wikipedia: The Javan pond heron (Ardeola speciosa) is a wading bird of the heron family, found in shallow fresh and salt-water wetlands in Southeast Asia. Its diet comprises insects, fish, and crabs.
The Javan pond heron is typically 45 cm long with white wings, a yellow bill with a black tip, yellow eyes and legs. Its overall color is orange, slaty and white during mating season, and brown and flecked with white out of the mating season. The non-breeding plumage is similar to that of the Chinese and Indian pond herons and is virtually indistinguishable in the field.

The Javan Pond Heron, Ardeola Speciosa, is a wading bird of the heron family, found in shallow fresh and salt water wetlands in Southeast Asia. In the wild, they eat insects, drabs and fish; in the Zoo, they are fed a scientifically developed, commercially available bird of prey diet, capelin and insects. I saw this bird when I was walking around the Zoo grounds.
Endemic to the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali...
Photo taken near Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia
The day before, we had tried to photograph this pitta, when torrential rain hit Batu and flooded our location in a split second, making it impossible to reach the shelter where we were supposed to see the pitta. On our last day in Java, we went to a second spot, and had to undertake one of the most difficult trails I've ever done. We had to walk along the bed of a small river and jump over rocks and ponds. At this point, our attention was drawn to a partridge, which made us briefly forget about the pitta, which then disappeared and never returned.

204) Javan Myna
Javan Myna, Acridotheres javanicus, Myna Jawa
This species can be found in large numbers almost everywhere in Southeast Asia. Like other Mynas it is omnivorous, roosts in colonies and is abundantly successful in a variety of habitats. They are as accomplished in cities as they are in countrysides. It eats ants, worms, fruits, human feeds leftovers, insects and grains. This one is a rare albino of that species

109) Javan Cuckooshrike
Javan Cuckooshrike, Coracina javensis, Burung Kelabu Gunung
Cuckooshrikes are not closely related to either the cuckoos or to the shrikes; the name probably comes from the grey colour of many of the cuckooshrikes. Some of the species also bear a superficial resemblance to cuckoos, and have a similar undulating flight. The grey colouration has led to one of their other names, the greybird. The Javan Cuckooshrike is thought to be only endemic to the island of Java in Indonesia, but now they can be found in highlands of Peninsular Malaysia such as Frasers Hill and Genting Highland.
