A group of bottles and jars reflected on the side of the orb. So I am getting the photo from the side of the orb this is why it has the fisheye effect on the bottles, also some of the grit that settled on the orb walls showed up and he scratch on the orb over the red bottle.

Previously the jar contained my homemade jam. The label is homemade, too. It is my photo of the view from our house at Rocky Butte. Mt Hood is obscured by the coin.
BAD BENTHEIM // Begin jaren '60 bouwde Wegmann Kassel een vijftal panoramarijtuigen (ook wel 'domecar') voor de Deutsche Bundesbahn, voor inzetten op de internationale Rheingold- en binnenlandse Rheinpfeil-verbindingen. Zo'n 60 jaar na hun indienststelling bestaan alle vijf exemplaren nog, zij het in bezit bij particulieren al dan niet museumstuk bij bijvoorbeeld het DB Museum. Het rijtuig 10553 kwam na zijn inzetten in de Bondsrepubliek onder andere uit in Zweden voor inzetten in nachttreinen vanuit Stockholm naar Narvik. Via de Vulkan-Eifel-Bahn keerde het rijtuig terug naar het land van herkomst, alvorens in 2019 een behoorlijke modernisatie te ondergaan voor de inzetten als 'Luxon'-rijtuig.
Op 7 juli bracht het rijtuig na bijna 2 jaar weer een bezoekje aan ons kikkerlandje, tijdens een charterrit vanuit Hamburg Altona naar Amsterdam Centraal. Die ochtend was ik reeds op pad op de Veluwe voor ICB 141, het zou echter nog even duren alvorens de trein dichterbij de grens kwam - met een geplande aankomsttijd van 16:13.. Om de tijd te doden werd de toerist uitgehangen in Bad Bentheim met een wandeling door de stad en omgeving. Na een melding van het vertrek uit Münster na kopmaken, werd met de Polo vertrokken richting de beoogde stek kort voor het station. Omwille de treinlengte werd voor de buitenbocht ter hoogte van de overweg bij km 11,8 gekozen, meer dan genoeg lengte voor de foto.
De tractie werd verzorgd door de onlangs overgenomen 190 311, een voormalige LocoItalia machine die ingezet werd bij InRail en tot voor kort diens huisstijl nog droeg. De om die reden nog uiterst schone locomotief vertoonde zich na zo'n 40 minuten branden in de zon voor de lens, als de eindbestemming voor de locomotief langzaam in zicht komt. De Nederlandse collega's stonden reeds klaar met de 9903 voor het vervolg van de reis naar Amsterdam. Een inhaalpoging werd nog geprobeerd tot over de grens, helaas was de gebroken neus mij net te snel af. Gelukkig werd het wachten beloond aan de Duitse kant, en kon er voldaan weer terug gereden worden richting de Achterhoek!

A Ming-dynasty (or Ming-style) jar at the Malaqa House. In Borneo, the headhunters in the past would keep the shrunken heads of their enemies / conquests in jars such as this :-)

A zádorfalvi DUD-972 fordája tartalmazza a Berente, Bányagépjavító - Varbó járatot, mely a Pitypalatty-völgy egy alsóbbrendű útján közlekedik. Sajókápolna és Sajólászlófalva között ezen az úton naponta egy járat közlekedik, reggel pedig az ellenkező irányba halad.
This is a miniature, of course. The whole thing is only about ¾" high. Behind it is a full-sized glass one which, I hasten to add, is empty and always has been. I bought it in the local garden centre to use as a prop. :)
my dad sent me this jar along with another one that he found in the wall while remodeling one of our appartaments in our over 130 year old house back in Prague... they must be very old!!! He knows I love this kinda stuff and it is so nice of him to save things like this for me!

Beekbergerwoud
The Netherlands has 20 national parks and hundreds of other nature reserves. Most are owned by Staatsbosbeheer and Natuurmonumenten and include lakes, heathland, woods, dunes and other habitats.
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, the territory of the Netherlands belongs to the Eco region of Atlantic mixed forests.
In 1871 the last old original natural woods (Beekbergerwoud) were cut down, and most woods today are planted monocultures of trees like Scots Pine and trees that are not native to the Netherlands. These woods were planted on anthropogenic heaths and sand-drifts (overgrazed heaths) (Veluwe).
For a long time the Beekbergerwoud has been known as the last `primaeval` woodland of the Netherlands.
Natuurmonumenten started in 2006 with the restoration of the area and tries to gain back a little of the fairytale wilderness.
Nutrient-poor and crystal clear water wells up at some places and there are still rare plants from the former swamp present. Seeds of native trees and plants are still in the ground and can sprout again.

Beekbergerwoud
10 juni 2013, natuur in wording. Even ten zuiden van Apeldoorn ligt het Beekbergerwoud. Ooit het laatste oerbos van Nederland, ontwikkelt dit vroegere agrarische gebied zich al weer aardig tot een gevarieerd natuurgebied waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen. Zo’n 8.000 jaar bleef het Beekbergerwoud ongeschonden. Totdat in 1871 tot de laatste boom werd geveld. Er kwam een agrarisch gebied met weilanden en akkers. Natuurmonumenten is in 2006 begonnen met herstel van het gebied en probeert daarbij iets van de sprookjesachtige wildernis terug te brengen. Je kunt in het Beekbergerwoud wandelen vanaf de parkeerplaats aan de Woudweg in Klarenbeek. Helder water Een bijzonder natuurgebied om te beleven, want de omstandigheden voor unieke natuur zijn nog altijd aanwezig: Er welt op een aantal plaatsen kraakhelder, voedselarm water uit de bodem op. En zijn nog steeds zeldzame planten uit het voormalige moerasbos aanwezig. Zaden van oorspronkelijke bomen en planten zaten nog in de grond en kunnen weer ontkiemen. Verbinding met IJsseldelta Het herstel houdt in dat het schone welwater beter in het gebied blijft staan. Op een aantal bulten zijn al zoete kers, zomereik, haagbeuk en winterlinde geplant. Meer werkzaamheden zullen volgen, met als doel dat het Beekbergerwoud een aanwinst is voor de Nederlandse natuur. Een onmisbare schakel die de Veluwe als vanouds met de IJsseldelta verbindt. Zodat planten, zoogdieren, vogels, reptielen en amfibieën zich beter over grote afstand kunnen verplaatsen.
